ok i just put in my graphics card. its a ATI radeon 9550 with 250MHz VPU 128 DDR memory at 400MHz FUll DirectX 9 suport VGA, DVH, TV-OUT and when i try to play like cs i can play it but i can only play it for like 5 min and then my like computer screen goes black and i have to shut of my computer. and i was wondering if u guys know what is wrong with it? plz help -AlmightyWhity-
You need to uninstall the previous drivers before you install new drivers. Make sure you do that, if you don't installing new drivers over old ones can make it screwy.
just curious, but how many watts do you have in your PSU? (power supply) I know that 250 watts isnt enough to support a high-end video card along with all the other cards, drives, cpu, ram, and fans. I saw this problem alot...
the suggestion to get a better power supply may be reasonable, you can get a 400(or if you look around a 650)W supply for under 40$, and for less if you go lower

Do u have VIA chipset on ur motherboard??? There´s a compatibility problem between ati and via chipsets with new drivers that can restart ur comp orshow VPU Recover errors.
Yeah. Check the firmware on your motherboard as well. Check your BIOS, and that may need to be updated. I had the exact same problem with my laptop, and it ended up that I needed to re-flash the BIOS before it got completely fixed. If you installed all the stuff taht came with it, the cd's and such, one thing that I noticed worked temporarily was reducing the AGP down to 4x. Can try that, see if it at least lets you play for a while.
