I'd like to clock my 8800 gtx and it seems that I am missing a couple of steps? (just to test out, make some trials for gaming performance). In the NVIDIA control panel When I try to increase the core bus (defaulted at 576) by even 1Mhz it doesn't allow me to do so. The test says "GPU clock test failed!" and applying it is obviously impossible if the test fails...

What am I doing wrong? I have reinstalled Ntune which allows you to clock your card and tweak other settings, but that did not resolve it.

I'm also interested in learning how to clock my cpu a little higher (currently 2.6 possibly to 3.0ghz?), I've heard that this requires applying some volts to allow for overclocking?

Any wizards to this that can help with this situation??

    *much appreciated

Also, I don't believe you can increase it by 1mhz anyway. There are certain points on the scale which it will automatically default to. For example, if you set it to 582, it might change to 576, or if you set it to 738 it might change it to 742 etc.
