I have the GTS, whats the difference between GTS and GTX, or am I just a dumbass and they are the same thing. Thanks
There is small difference in these cards but theres no doubt the 8800gtx is faster..Nearly everything is better on the 8800gtx but only by a bit 8800gtx......8800gts Core clock........575mhz 500mhz Shader clock.....1350mhz....1200mhz Stream CPU.......128...........96 Mem clock..........900/1800..800/1600 mem inferface....384bit.......320bit mem bw ............86.4Gb/s....64Gb/s Theres a few more differences but you can see the difference
Yea its better. Quiet expensive aswell so hope you have the $$$$ lol but if you already have the GTS theres no point in upgrading yet
Nice..Well theres no poiny in buying the GTX just cos its a little bit better..GTS will last a good year or two until games start to lag
Also, there are 2 versions of the GTS, the 320 Mb and the 640 Mb one. The one with 320Mb memory is obviously worse, but it is cheaper.
Means it will be able to run better...Same as RAM really...The more RAM you have the better...So the more Mbs you have the better
it's around a 20-40% difference in terms of real world performance. http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.htm...2=608&chart=199 basically, it's stupid to buy the "BIG" card because they dont' really last any longer in terms of their product lifespan and the lesser card still kicks ass when it's out. It's bette to buy a smaller card almost twice as often as compared to buying the big one half as often. if it makes you feel better, you can overclock your card to close the gap a bit. EDIT: the diference won't matter a ton for you, your CPU is too slow to really utilize the GPU power of the 8800GTS yet alone the GTX, well maybe at higher AA levels but from what I've seen on our AIM conversations you either don't know how to or think it's pointless.
