So your saying you have 2006, it expired, so they gave you a link to 2007, but you cant use it because your expired?

Well, seeing as norton basically ruins the system anyway, uninstall it and go with something like kaspersky, nod32, BitDefender,

    EDIT:

IF You insist on using Norton do the following

Uninstall, get TuneUp Utilities 2007 trial (others can reccomend others but...) use its registry cleaner, and remove any and all invalid entries. Then reinstall use the same key.

My assumtion is Norton has a registry key that is staying there to say that you've already installed it and it has your subscription data.

There's nothing wrong with Norton Anti-Virus, admittedly it's not the best, but their Systemworks utilities are very good.

It's not actually madatory for you to upgrade to the new version every year, but they overstress the need to upgrade, so that less observant computer users won't realise that all they have to do is to renew their subscription.

Anyway, now that you have, the best thing to do is to contact Symantec and tell them what happened. They should have a record of your transaction on their database and will be able reactivate your subscription.
