I got 1gb dual channel ram. Would turning off pagefile be better or worse for me? How about if I have 1.5gb?

leave page files to the hard drive, it will only slow down your ram more.

leave it on, trust me you gain mor than you loose. I'd only suggest turning it off if you had 2GB of ram or more FYI. and don't waste a DIMM slot with 512mb of ram or two with 512 MB. if you buy two sticks it's a waste of a DIMM slot and then some, if you buy one, you're kicke out of dual channel. You would be best off being satisfied with 1GB ram and waiting until you can afford an extra 2GB in a year or so.

id say turn it off, then window will put all your pagefile into ram, and you have 1gb which should be adequate, and should speed up your system as ram is much faster than hard drive

you'd only benifit from having it off if you run very few things and are about to game or something. 1GB is about borderline for having it on/off. 2gb is turnit of for sure.
