So, as luck would have it, the government is making EVERYONE buy digital TV's.... Yes, that means you. So those of you cheap skates that won't go out and get one because it's a waste of money... you're screwed.. What is the digital TV (DTV) transition? The switch from analog to digital broadcast television is referred to as the digital TV (DTV) transition. In 1996, the U.S. Congress authorized the distribution of an additional broadcast channel to each broadcast TV station so that they could start a digital broadcast channel while simultaneously continuing their analog broadcast channel. Later, Congress mandated that February 17, 2009 would be the last day for full-power television stations to broadcast in analog. Broadcast stations in all U.S. markets are currently broadcasting in both analog and digital. After February 17, 2009, full-power television stations will broadcast in digital only. I dont like "pay to watch" television. But whatever, if that would happen here I'd probably get it. HD ftw.
just get a freeview box, you can pick them up for £20 and you get a load of channels, and no monthly costs!
Maybe I should have made it more clear that this affects US people only. Unless there is the U.S. Congress in the UK. I might be mistaken... /sarcasm
I use satellite with alot of HDTV channels. Less expensive than cable here. Plus I live so far in the country it doesn't even go up my road.
it affects all channels not just cable/satellite tv what are you a Quaker that you dont watch tv
