Well here's where I'm coming from. If I wanna spend 600 to game, I'll get a good new gfx card, maybe 2gb's of ram for my PC rather than 1gb. I got a nice PC to game with high-end specs AND its actually upgradable! OMGZ. Consoles should be kept at 350 and lower IMO. Computers are where you waste extra money on them. Plus I havent seen any unique ps3 games I want yet. Blu-ray is pointless IMO so far. And the HD-DVD for 360 is even worse. And are you sure 360 has smaller HD? I thought it doubled this time, from (roughly) 10gb to 20gb...I'm pretty sure it was like that?... and what accessories are you talking about? controllers? do you not need them for ps3 anyhow?...
Ok you're right about the HD, for some reason I thought the original one had 40GB. Don't know where I got that. As for the accesories: Xbox 360: $400 Ps3: $600 Conroller battery: -xbox360: $20 -ps3: standard Wifi Add-on: -xbox360 $80 -ps3: standard 1 year Xbox Live: -xbox360 $60 -ps3 free online service that is pretty equal to xboxl contrary to popular believe HD-DVD add-on: -xbox360: $200 -ps3: Blu-ray included Total: -Xbox360: $750 -Ps3: $600 the HD-DVD add-on for xbox360 is just for people who would like to have a cheap HD-DVD player. While the Blu-ray actually will be used to fit full HD and all available languages and extras on 1 disc on top of the fact that Blu-ray could very well become the new standard medium for HD movies. Also, since actiongames, beat-em-ups, and most race-games are nearly impossible to play on pc withouth add-ons $600 seems like a good investment to play games like Devil May Cry in full HD at a constant 60fps frame rate. The playstation kept up with most pc-games untill about 2 years ago. So that's still 4 years. Most 4 year old pc's that are still being used now are beyond the point of simply upgrading and will most likely require a new mobo along with all the rest to be up to date with latest technology. EDIT: I also just realised I am posting about Ps3 - Xbox360 in a Nintendo topic, how did we get so off track
Because little spoiled kids have more control over their parents than ever, if a 12 year old whines enough about a Wii his/her parents will get them one, specially since most parents who have spoiled children are rich and could care less about 300 dollars for their kid to shutup. Nintendo aims their sales more at younger ages anyway.
Yep, they are TRYING to boot the kiddie image, but I feel bad that the GC has set that in stone so badly. The new Zelda and Metroid hopefully will make more people see that the Wii can be for adults also, but we will see.
Its not really fair to say that becuse of when they came out.If the N64 came out before the ps1 then they would of made more and Ps2 also came out before the other 2 systems at that time too.The infomation would only be correct if you either looked at their first year profit or a differnt way. *edit* edited a word.
first year profit being based on the release date of each console, figured that would have been common sense.
Sorry guys. I made those assumptions on GC>PS2. Forgive me if you must. Anyways, I love the vid. Although its not true but still funny. Guys, Nintendo DS is the only one aimed at preteens but most of the buyers are still teens and above. Wii is supposed to be aimed at all ages. Theres a new mature game released on the launch, Red Steel. Loads of blood and bullets. Also the reason for lower-than-360PS3-graphics is because of the pricing. Better graphicsetter processorigger price tag which the main goal of Wii that its affordable by all. You see, not everyone are hardcore gamers like you all. People actually have to support a family and not all people have 5-digit job either. Blu-Ray disc are not that great either. There aren't any standalone players available commercially.
Exactly, I got a PC for hXc gFx (that was needed) so the wii is great for what I want. Blu-ray is stupid. Thats my opinion tho.
Your opinion ofcourse, but blu-ray is needed for full HD games wich your pc with a graphics card that's as expensive as the entire console won't play.
Im not sure if I got that. and I know PC costs more than PS3 to have equal quality, just think its worth it still personally. and yea, All opinions. I dont got an HD tv I can use (I got a widescreen 65" but cant use that) so blu-ray is pointless for me.
