I guess if you look at sonys line up with a perspective like that your right. But you cant compare sonys line with NR or Xbox because of the number of 3rd party devolpers. Its not the systems fault if a company wants to make a barbie or digimon game for ps2 it just shows the diverse range of titles you have to choose from. Not everyone buys games soley based on what IGN ranks them as

Revolution is going to be the only console to be doing something *different*. PS3 and 360 are aiming for the same market and basically do the same thing...but the Rev has the potential to actually bring in new gaming experiences.

Along with quirky games or whatever you want to think the Revmote is going to bring in, there's going to be a controller shell where traditional games or ports can be played with, so there's really no way to lose.

Well the DS proved that "different" isnt always best. Trying to sell an entire system based on its "different" controller is weak at best. Coupled with the low third party support and the lackluster deliverance of first party games I cant expect much of the revvy. Yes games like SSB and Zelda will be fun but not sell an entire system

How do you know it has low third party support? Developers have done nothing but praise Nintendo. I assure you it's going to have many 3rd party exclusives considering a) it's the cheapest to develop for on dev kits they're familiar with so they have a high profit margin and B) there are going to be (unconventional) games that are able to be played on the Rev. that can't be done on the PS3 and 360.

And actually, the DS has proved that "different" is indeed winning in Japan and selling extremely well everywhere else. Nintendo built a market for this different kind of game, with the Rev. they're going to capitalize on it.

Well if you look at the game cube and compare the number of its 3rd party games to the Xbox and the ps2 it has the lowest number. Coupled with the fact that sony and microsoft are buying companies for exclusive rights for games limits the support of Revvy even more. And I can assure you it will have the least number of 3rd party devolpers A)The dev kits associated with Xbox and PS3 are closely related to those of basic computers however the Revvy with its "innovation" will provide a difficult challenge for devolpers to work into games. B) Every game mafe for the Revvy will absolutely be able to be played on other systems. Since there is a "normal" controller coming out it stands to reason games will be able to incorporate the motion activated controllers and convention ones. Even if they couldnt it would be simple to change the motion activated responces to the analog sticks of normal controllers.

Well seeing as every video game type thing sells wildly in Japan thats not much of a statement. And the sales of sonys PSP are greater than the DS proving that the more powerful, usefull machine wins over being different.

I really think the Rev is worth the wait. I think the controler will be fun to use, and I love the fact that you can download the older games.

Normally I would dismiss this system out of hand, nintendo hasn't exactly been wowing me lately. But the backwards compatiablity is simply brilliant. I just cannot say no to it, even though I still have my NES and it is in perfect working order, I still want this system.

Yeah i know outselling the PSP 3:1 Isnt best

Im gonna get a Revolution, A gaming computer provides all the things a ps3/360 can provide and more so if i already have one why get a ps3 or 360?

Well alright lets look at it this way. DS came out 4 months before the PSP and still has only sold a little more than it
    ___---___---___-DS___PSP
    Up to March: 1,650,895 618,000
    April:___---___- 50,000 351,000
    May:___---___--57,000 250,000
    June:___---___112,000 294,000
    July:___---___ 102,000 202,000
    August:___---_103,000 167,000
    September:__--164,000 146,000
    October:-_--_--136,000 127,000
    November:__---370,000 353,000

    Total:___-___2,744,895 2,500,000

So almost every month of the psp being out it has outsold the DS. Ya thats not a real 3:1 ratio

Price also plays a major factor in the sales of the two handhelds.
