the flip side is that that would eb international sales, in the US, I beleive Sony has more market share, though I could be mistaken. I know very few Japanese have PSPs as comapred to DSes, so that could eb part of the reason...

    Well it depends on you.
The DS has go karts, mario and a whole assortment of other stuff.

The PSP you have combat, racing and a lot more other stuff. Not to mention it is very versatile as an mp3, movie player.

Personally I was always a nintendo fan so I would get a DS.

I have both the DS and the PSP and I think the DS is by far the better gaming machine. If you want a mini downgraded PS2 which doesn't offer any 'new' games just PS2 ports and a few original games (Mercury Meltdown etc.) and an MP3, UMD player then get the PSP.
But! If you want something that's actually good fun to play with cracking games then get a DS. (The DS canalso: play GBA games, play MP3's although that's sold seperately and an internet browser, again sold seperately)

I choose the DS simply because I like it more. I've played both, and while the PSP may have movies, the DS has the better games (in my opinion), which is what it's all about.

the DS is far superior in terms of software. plus, the touch screen offers a new way to play all sorts of games.

And you forgot about having to replace your PSP every few months because of burnt out pixels and other problems that could be prevented by spending more time on a system, Sony should learn.
