Operation Defensive Shield: you know what that was? The removal of a refugee camp that the Israelis took rocket fire from. Don't want to be arrested? Don't let people shoot rockets at the Israelis from your home. Not hard.

"April 25, 2001 - Israeli soldiers stranglehold a Palestinian boy in the West Bank town of Hebron. "

Yeah, they'll do that in America too if you're resisting arrest.

"March 3, 2003 - Shukry al Maqadma, who's wife Nuha was crushed to death when IDF soldiers blew up their home in the al-Bureij Refugee Camp in March 2003."

Sad. Too bad she didn't heed the evacuation orders. She'd be alive, he wouldn't have his medical problems.

"December 23, 2002 - Wa'il Abu Rumeileh, who was beaten and had his hair forcibly cut by soldiers in December 2002, in a barbershop where he worked in Hebron. "

Do they give a reason? No. Though I can probably guess he was resisting arrest.

"June 10, 2002 - Israeli border policemen kick and punch a Palestinian protestor who, along with other Palestinian citizens, attempted to prevent construction on Palestinian owned land in East Jerusalem. "

Got a land grant for that? They'll do that in America too.

    "
May 2, 2004 - Two children stand in front of their recently demolished house in Beit Hanina in Jerusalem. "

At least these two heeded the evacuation orders. Beit Hanina was cleared because yet again, it was being used as a staging point for attacks.

"June 6, 2001 - Settlers attack a Palestinian in Hebron in plain view of an IDF soldier. "

If it's his land, his home, his property, he can legally do that in Israel. Here, they'll clap you on the back after you get it done.

"July 28, 2002 - Settlers throw stones at Palestinian homes in Hebron, as soldiers stand idly by. "

Don't piss off settlers. Don't throw stones at them, they won't throw stones at you. Two way street.

"Settlers in Hebron aiming their weapons at Palestinians as soldiers look on. "

Yeah, I'd get the ---- off someone's property if he had a gun on me as well. That's legal in Israel and America. Called "Castle laws."

In conclusion: it's a two way street. If the Israelis are persecuting you, follow their laws and above all, don't shoot rockets at them. As you can see in Lebanon, it makes them mad. If they're being "persecuted," simply follow the laws and show who the better person is. They'd get international support doing that, along with sanctions by the UN against Israel.

Shokotan, you must learn that the actions of a few do not speak for the rest of a country. Yes, there is the occasional murder by an Israeli soldier. There's also the trial for that soldier, as well as due punishment.

I'm not going to post in this topic anymore. You can't make a legitimate claim. You post some pictures, a caption, and no context. The demolishing of the camps are in response to rocket fire. The shootings are in response to attacks. Israelis are defending themselves against a constant threat. Trust me, they'll stop once the terrorists do. Until then, there's going to be more. It's the terrorists' responsibility that there are people dead right now. Don't phrase it any other way.

Don't think I'm running away because of your "proof." I'm not. I'm not going to waste my time proving you wrong. I've done it already. You keep making claims and you probably will keep doing so until this topic is locked.

Ferrert you obviulsy dont undertsand. The middle-east is not america so stop comparing the two "oh they can do that in america too" Hizbullah only attacks after Isreali attacks them or kills innocent civilans. We do sucide bombings because that is the only way to strike Isreali, a eye for a eye. they kill my family I am gonna kill your family. You bomb are houses everyday we are gonna bomb your buses, the point is that in almost every case Isreali has strike first. Thoose soilders were in Leabnon so they had every right to be captured and killed, they were in a different country so they were free reign.

ferret wins nothing , his answers and explainations still make no bit of sense , hes just assuming that they were "resisting arrest" "in someone else's property" and other things , and yes they ARE fighting back , and it doesnt have to be by just killing israeli soldiers

and trust me , they'd still do the same if hamas wasn't attacking , because the reason hamas does those attacks is because the israeli army was doing similliar and much worse one's in the first place

ones again ferret you are just assuming things and comparing two completley diffirent things

Sorry to say but B U L L S H I T. Since Israel has been FORMED, Arabs have attacked first. Within days of conception, Israel was attacked. It tripled its size in ten days. They sure attacked first there, too. Israel has been out of Gaza for months, Southern Lebanon for years. Sure, they definately attacked first. Quit making excuses, you have none. Those soldiers were on the Israeli side of the border at an Israeli army post. They're in Lebanon now, if they're not dead.

if they have ben tricked , and got that much of their country taken away , dont they have the right to attack?
they were being kicked out of their houses in 1949 , after being tricked , and they dont have the right to do that?

Well, maybe this is a war thats so out of reach that we dont know whos justified anymore? This war officially started around 60 years ago, and was a rivalry that lasted thousands of years. Where were we in justifying anything? Also, human beings were cursed to do this, werent they? The reason Israel might've killed so many people because they possible were a little overdramatic about the attacks by Palestinian rebels? And then the Palestinians attack back for the innocent lives taken. Its clear we are in a scenario where noone can be justified and noone can be safe. Am I right?

Sorry, but you obvoulsiy dont know anything about what is going on, and you call me a idiot??? Another thing that they fail to mention in the news is that these soldiers were kidnapped within disputed territories between the two countries, so they had no business being there in the first place. But of course by Israeli terminology disputed means 'Israeli'. srael has kidnapped thousands of Arabs and since Israel refuses to comply with international laws groups like Hizbullah and Hamas have no choice but to resort to capturing Israelis and trade them for their prisoners. Israel still occupies parts of South Lebanon, the Shebaa Farms region. Israel still holds Lebanese in Israeli jails. Israel still has refused to submit a map of the 400,000 land mines that it deliberately left in South Lebanon, which regularly kill Lebanese children.

So you fault Hizbullah for taking the fight outside the Shebaa farms but you would not dare fault Israel for taking its fight against Lebanon well outside the Shebaa Farms. And that is where the Isreali soliders were so they were free reign.

Blame the UN for that. UN partition of Israel made that happen. For the current deaths, the only one to blame are the ones provoking the Israelis.

Interesting history: the Arab coalition told the Palestinians to get out of the area to avoid becoming casualties back in 1948/9 while they pushed Israel into the sea. Too bad they didn't make good on that promise :).

I agree. An observation post on the Israeli side of an internationally-recognized border is "disputed." They weren't in the Sheeba farms. They were at an observation post along the Israeli side of the border. If they were in the Farms, why did Hezbollah organize a rocket attack, mortar attack, and a tunnel to get across. Trust me, you can go up there and see the tunnel they used.

I understand this is a heated issue, but even I am throwing a towel into this. I mean - it is an important issue, but I cannot keep up with these two major players (and very fine debaters, I must say ;) ). Its a sad case, but its a difficult topic with no real solution.
