My post got deleted.. Maybe it should have been in OT :S I thought it would make for a discussion though.

Ahh well, I'll let a mod lock/delete this if thats what they want and post it in OT.

My first post was something along the lines of:

There was a small plane that hit a condo on 74th (i think 74th) street in Manhatten.

2 confirmed fatalities, FBI said NOT terrorism.

Why would someone be flying that low in NY downtown if it wasn't intentional? I highly doubt a controller would have allowed it.

It's some problem with IPB actually, sometimes when you post a topic it just wont show up.

If a mod deleted the post it would delete the topic aswell.

Now there is 4 confirmed deaths. The controllers couldn't allow it because it was a private cessna 442, which controllers have no control over because it's not a commercial airliner carrying passangers. One of the dead passangers was a back up pitcher for the NY yankees. Also the FBI are investigating ATM and thinking this could have been along the lines or terrorism.

I watch the news alot

Is not a terrorist attack if you think so .. According to the T.V News is a picther of the N.Y who crashed into the building and die during the accident.. He crash into the building because the sky was covered with haze ....

Sad, but this guy showed complete disregard for aviation saftey procedures and regulations. He was too low, doing manuevers that the plane couldn't handle.

Here's my theory. He was showing off his ridiculously expensive new Cirrus SR20, and he stalled, lost control over the city, and entered an un controled dive.

Also, to answer blackice's question, he didn't have to talk to ATC because he was not in controled airspace.

Always sad to see a fellow aviator go down. ;(

    -Chase.

You don't know that for a fact. For all we know, he could've just been flying past the city and got caught up in some haze/fog and lost his sense of direction and sight leading him to crash. It's all speculation in the end right now until we hear anything from the investigation. Just too many questions right now...
