The new rules are in bold. This post is not to inform people of the rules, merely to hear GR member's opinions on these rules. These rules have come in place because of certain problems in the last 2 SOTWs, and others beforehand. Its also to help THE RULES 1. Your entree must be made by you and only you. 2. only one entree per person (edit your post) 3. Anyone caught entering under multiple names, will be warned & BANNED from entering any further SOTWs at GameRenders. 4. Your entree must be within the set theme. 5. Animation is allowed 6. Flash (.swf) sigs are not allowed. 7. you can use : jpg, gif or png 8. keep filesize below 501kb 9. your forum username must appear on your entry, and it must be the "main" name, not in small bitmap tucked away in the corner. This includes any numbers in your name. Symbols such as: _, *, <, >, ?, etc are not required in your entries, since not all fonts have these symbols. 10. you must have over 200 posts to enter! 11. nothing but entrees in the entree thread any other post will be deleted and warning level will be increased and your entree disqualified 12. If your disqualified at the end of this week's SOTW, your not allowed to enter next week's. Maybe this will teach people to read the rules more clearly. 13. Since not all font's include those symbols, why not get them from another font that does include them? Not that hard to do..
i think a rule should be if you win this weeks sotw you cant enter the next week because some people make really good sigs and win 2 weeks in a row
I think we should do something a little more unique. I'm kinda seing the same themes repeated and repeated. Maybe a Tutorial of the week? Other than that, the only rule I don't like is the File Size limit. I think it should be allowed upto 1Meg.
If in future SOTW's i can't work my full name bloodandiron into the sig i'll just buy the change username item I'm kinda annoyed because i was DQ'ed for using b.iron, a shorthand i use for almost every sig i make. Can we post a version WITH OUR NAME and then a version that looks better but with a short form name? The purpose of this rule (as i recall) was to prevent ripped entries. If i can prove its not a rip by doing the above can it be allowed?

Sounds like a plan for the new rules. Hopefully, with school coming and all, I'll be able to join the next SOTW. I cant think of any ideas to add to it at the current time, but I imagine I can think of acouple.
i'm in the same situation too actually.. i like to put just stott on my sigs, it's way more aesthetically pleasing, at least to me, than stottpie
Thanks for considering it. I know its impossible to make exceptions for anyone. Just saying that we should be able to prove our entries to be genuine without having to have a, as stott put it, less aesthetically pleasing entry.
