Version 2 is better. However, the border is way too distracting and not needed. A simple black border on the top/bottom is much more effective, but borders aren't needed all the time so use them wisely. The text is way too big and ugly. Sorry. Try a simpler approach to text. The render doesn't stand out, and this can be fixed using the burn/dodge tool. Also, the composition hurts the tag overall because aside from the render, the text takes up most of the empty space. Try moving the render more to the middle, keeping it at the left then use the sharp/blur tool + burn/dodge tool and then add text on the right side very close to the render. See if that works? Good start on it though =)
