I know its not that high end stuff but whatever hes what im planning

    CPU- slot am2-AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800-
Mobo- Slot am2- Asus Crosshair SLI 590 deluxe-
    RAM-DDR2-800mhz-Corsair 2gigabyte
Hard drive- Western digital -7200 rpm 320gig
ROM drive1-NEC 18x DVD RW burner
    Video card1-Nvidia 8800 GTX
    Video Card2- Nvidia 8800 GTX
    Case-APEVIA X-Superalien ATXA6SW

biggest cost to the sytem is the video cards

the cpu is a low energy one and im going to over clock it to a nice 2.5 per core

the case doesnt look like much but its got room for expansion and hey it comes with 6 case fans and 500 psu

Mobo has 2 PCIe 16x 1 PCIe 4x and 3 PCI expansion slots so this computer could be in use 2 years from now

    tell me what cha think

To get the best out of that system I think you'd need to go with a better processor. Something off the core 2 duo line should do. Also, you're gonna need at least a 650 Watt PSU to power that PC.

As said go Core 2 and you're DEFINATELY needing more than a 500W no name PSU for dual 8800GTXs

    Stick with the 8800 series...

If you must go with AMD wait until they release their new architecture, otherwise it's just not worth it considering how much C2D's are kicking their ass.

    Drop 1 8800GTX, Keep 1, because u need it for DX10.

I was a 'AMD' Fanboy my self, until i got a Intel Core 2 Duo E6600. Best CPU ever!!!

    trust me.

    you win..

8800GTXs will drop like a rock within a bit, so spend the cash diference on a c2d, wouldn't even be that much more.

Also, Corsair has a tendency of screwing people with their RAM...
lot of people paid 350$ for a highend dominator kit and got suck with PROmos. There are "cheap" kits for $100 less that overclock so much better...

I'll look for a kit later.

it's not that they made a good product.

it's that their direct competition made a ----ty product.

    C2d is better.

I had an AMD opteron 165 @2.8GHz(equivillent to an FX62) prior to this and there is a performance diference

The Aspire Power Supply is utter crap, I suggest you replace it ASAP. With 2x 8800's you should look for at least an Enhance ENP 500W PSU, but preferably an Enermax Galaxy, or something like it.

a single 8800GTX wouldn't run off of that PSU yet alone two.

this should give you an idea of what PSUs are good.

note how low the aspires are? That PSu si liekly to fry some ---- after a while.

also don't feal bad about abandoning a little guy. They're still making money. Plus AMD makes most of it's profits in the server sector, not the PC sector.

I think you need at least 900W of PSU if you'll be having two 8800's.

One card, itself, drains about 400W of energy of so I've heard.

thanks for the tips after you said an e6600 was utter pwnage, i went search and found a nice long review of intel and amd processors, it utterly destroys the fx 62 which was alot better then my 3800 i wasgoing to get, for an extra 120 usd i think its worth it

For now Just use one 8800

get a intel processor instead of the Amd

Also get a nice 600watt psu just so you can have enough power :)
