yea, id say if u can afford it buy a good mobo (not to sure about that foxconn) get a good cooling fan/heatsink so u can overclock well. also you should try and get 2 gb of ram, with that you will have a really really sweet setup (IMO)

he probably won't be OCing so board is fine, and don't worry too much about the cooler unless you are. overall not too bad...

if you want to up the possibility of OCing though..

I've heard the "------" version of the baord OCs pretty well and that the difference between the two is minimal. Hit or miss on that board though, but it seems everyone who didn't get a DOA liked it, and well... DOAs happen and you're more likely to write a bad review or two or three if you get one as DOA...

the PSU quite frankly is crap though...
I'll see if i can find a cheepish one of acceptable quality.

also, if you can wait until AMD/ATi launches r600 I'm sure that 7900GS will come down in price a bit.

<s>quick forewarning on the harddrive, i have the exact same one. great drive in terms of performance but a fair amount louder than my old raptor and my old 80GB non-prm baracuda. it's tolerable though, jsut set up your system so disk adressing is minimal and you'll never notice it(compress drive data to minimize time spent reading and searching, improves speed and reliability.)
if you insist on silence and are willing to take a bit lower performance go with a WD cavier or a non PRM seagate... note that the stock HSF would probably be louder than the drive in most cases.</s>
thoguht you were getting a seagate baracuda with PRm... missread ignore above, though if you want better disk performance go for the baracuda, its a bit noisier though...

Ok, Thanks Don't think I'll be overclocking, and I already have an optical drive. I guess I Forgot about the psu I've already had two fail on me so I'm going to try and get a decent one.

which is why he'd buy one seperate. most PSUs included in cases are garbage.

1st recomendation probably a little overkill
    Enhance ENP-5150GH
    http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=PS-E5150G...ea9cc771c8ad72#

    2nd recomendation probably under kill
    http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=PS-E1136FA

I'd have to get back to you on an ----- recomendation between the two extremes. liekly would be one of those so-so 600W ultra's from Fry's electronics for 20$ after MIR.
