    Ok so I got a new motherboard and processor. It's all hooked up and the computer turns on, but it only lets me into the bios, or a screen pops up asking me if I wanna boot it in safe mode ect.

    Asus mobo.

    New processor is a 3.0 intel

    thanks

    what's a 3.0 intel?

    a 3.0Ghz Celeron D(those suck balls)
    a 3.0Ghz pentium 4(not much better)
    a 3.0GHz pentium D(still pretty bad)
    a 3.0Ghz core based Xeon? (those are really good)

    or a 3rd generation x86 CPU?
    Intel 80386

    as for doing w/e set your system to load from CD if you're trying to install an OS. if you're trying to boot into safemode, then consider pressing f8.

    The Pentium 4 one

    Were trying to get the computer to run, basically I just got a new processor, which beats my 1.6 ghz....and a new motherboard so it works. But when we turn the computer on, all it does is let us choose which way we wanna start, like I click last known settings that worked, it goes to a black screen then reboots the pc. Don't know if I hooked something up wrong or what.

    don't think of processors in GHz, it's like comparing a 3000RPM straight 4 to a 1600RPM v8, it's apples to oranges.

    GHz != performance.

    judging by your description is seems you did somethign wrong if it keeps on restarting.

    Wait, did you already reinstall your OS? Usually if you get a new motherboard, a reformat is required.

    Ya I tryed but it comes up with an error, dunno if this is true but do I have to have the old mother board in, then after it's on the blue screen after it's done copying the files I turn the comp off and switch the mobo?
