a 2.6GHz Celeron D with 128mb l2 cache? Yeah sure, 128mbs of cache, you should really take more time to write your posts/reply's xelink.
immagine the cache latency... horrible save... hah... having 128mb of l2 cache wouldn't be any fastert than using system ram, and would most liekly be slower in many cases, but yehi did typo badly.
Thats a complete rip off. My system which I put together cost about $1,000. I suggest you buy something similar to mine with these specs: Manufacturer: NVIDIA Processor: AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3500+ Memory: 2048MB RAM Hard Drive: 250 GB Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT Monitor: 17'' lcd Sound Card: Realtek AC97 Audio Power Supply: 520Watt ATX Smart Cable Power Supply with Thermal Dual Fan Control. Hope this helps pm me if you need some more help. I'm able to play games on the highest settings with no lag. If you want a good gaming pc get soemthing close to that I don't know your price budget but if you can put a comp together yourself or have a friend do it you can save alot of money. Merged Post: This system wouldn't be good to buy right now its old and outdated. My friend has a comp similar to this and he can only run bf2 on medium and it's laggy with other programs running.
I'd like to see you run FEAR on highest settings (DX-9, 1280x1024), and alt+tab simualtainously with WMP-11 and AIM and Mozilla. That's what I consider "Full Settings". Playing only a game and nothing else doesn't cut it for me, and most other people. x800GTO (which I think was out when you bought your system) would probably have been a better buy.
ou do realize that game kinda stop using most of the CPU cycles when alt tabbed out. i mean sure no DVD encoding simultanously when alt tbaiing but yoiu can easily go to a webpage or do w/e evn on a single core setup it just isn't as smooth.
