nanSTA says (10:13 PM): Anything you would like to say before we start? Neuron says (10:13 PM): Nope/ nanSTA says (10:13 PM): Where did you get your name/alias from? Neuron says (10:14 PM): I just picked it at random, I think I saw it somewhere else with a bunch of numbers in it, so I just took it and used it normally. nanSTA says (10:14 PM): Would you call yourself a Large Artist, or a Small Artist? Neuron says (10:14 PM): Large Artist. nanSTA says (10:15 PM): What is your favorite program(s) to use? Neuron says (10:15 PM): Photoshop, Terragen. Getting into C4D more recently. nanSTA says (10:15 PM): What would you say to a Tagger that wanted to get into large art? Neuron says (10:17 PM): I would probably tell him to not take tagging seriously and encourage the abandonment of their "tagging skills" for large art and develop real techniques and skills. nanSTA says (10:18 PM): How did you get into Large Art/Tags? Neuron says (10:19 PM): When I first went onto deviantart, I saw a lot of cool stuff so I decided to download a program and see what I could do. Later on I found GameRenders, around... 2004-2005 I think. I didn't register, just hung around looking at the tags people made, and figured I should try that as well. But I did large art first. nanSTA says (10:19 PM): How do you plan out when your making a LP/Tag? Neuron says (10:20 PM): Most of the time I have an idea in my head how the final result will look. So I attempt to recreate what's in my head on Photoshop, whether it be for an LP or a tag. Most of the time it doesn't look as good as I imagined it would be. nanSTA says (10:20 PM): What inspires you to make art? Neuron says (10:21 PM): Anything really. Movies, atmospheric music, other people's work. Sometimes books and stuff. But more recently it's been vivid dreams. nanSTA says (10:22 PM): What is your favorite peice you have made? Neuron says (10:22 PM): Hmm.. Let me check Neuron says (10:22 PM): I don't have a single favorite, it would be too hard to pick a favorite. nanSTA says (10:23 PM): How long have you been using Photoshop? (How long have you been into Large Peices/Signatures?) Neuron says (10:24 PM): Well Photoshop wasn't the first graphics program I started with.. If I remember correctly I started with Paint Shop 9 or 8. That was in 2004. I moved on to Photoshop probably in the middle of 2005. nanSTA says (10:24 PM): Do you have any tips to help people who are starting into large art? Neuron says (10:25 PM): Well it would depend on what kind of large art they'd want to get in. Neuron says (10:25 PM): nanSTA says (10:25 PM): Overall? Neuron says (10:27 PM): Well I'd say photomanipulation plays a role in MOST genres of large art, so I'd recommend to read up on proper lighting and shadows. Starting off with large canvases is good as well. It's also important to always be satisfied with your own work first, if you're not, keep working at it. Neuron says (10:27 PM): Before even attempting large art, I read up a lot. Neuron says (10:27 PM): Tutorials, guides, books, etc. nanSTA says (10:27 PM): Would you say you had a favorite artists in our GameRenders community? If so, who and why? Neuron says (10:29 PM): I did like Kennedy for a while, but he's lost his originality. But currently I do like Broken's work, Tubby's also improving a lot. I love Pulse's realism pieces, and I'm also starting to be impressed with Anything-Pink. Neuron says (10:30 PM): These guys stand out to me more than anyone, and I might have forgotten a few names but these guys are great. nanSTA says (10:30 PM): How do you like Artfoam right now, is Artfoam any different from any other crew? Neuron says (10:30 PM): Artfoam is pretty active. I've only been in one other crew, and I really enjoyed being there. Artfoam is nearly the same; has great people, great resources but the best part of all is it's activity. I would say that Artfoam is definately one of the better crews right now if not the best. Artfoam also has interesting activites, we recently did a secret santa (bit late but it was fun), we organize contests, etc. nanSTA says (10:31 PM): Anything you would like to finish off with before we go? Neuron says (10:31 PM): Artfoam ftw. Neuron says (10:31 PM): That is all.
