Just this morning... the morning of August 3 2006... a noob signed up and made a spam post. Now I think he is probably banned, but we need to do something about this. I have a few suggestions.

    1. When members first sign up, they shouldn't be able to post until they make like 2 posts in Introductions. That can be stopped if you sign up to be Premium or Donator.

    2. For certain boards you should have to have a certain number of posts before you can post there.

If anyone can think of anything else... I mean, we really need to stop this. It's getting on my nerves. And many other's nerves.

    Thank you for your time,
    5ive7even

    no.

and this isnt even a problem, the mods delete them like 10 mins after tops...and why does it bother you so much? you dont click it...you dont even need to read it, why do you care?

we will always have advertising problems, weither youl ike it or not, because even if they just have to post "hi" in introductions first, they will still sopam, and that perosns site was blocked, so it ws just a noob doing advertising for a site that was already blocked.

advertising is everywhere. get used to it, is all i can say

Sorry for this topic... it's just that... ah, nevermind. You're all probably already mad at ME for making this post. I am so sorry. But I just don't like it because... they ruin the forum. They spam it up and make it filthy. I like to be on a clean forum with no spam and nice and clean language also. (At least they have sensors here, lol).

its pretty hard as it is for the mods to keep the spamming down to a decent level with around 10,000 posts on average a day here
    we do our best :)

Yah, Gurly, I guess you're right, lol. It IS hard. I've had admin experiences before. I've had like 15 forums before. And moderated like 30. It's extremely hard to keep up. So I'm sorry everyone. Can someone close this topic now please?

spamming is everywhere and i'm think there are enough mods to take care of the spammers.
not allowing ppl to post could make them leave.spammers will be punished, but we don't want everyone to suffer because of them.

Well, people shouldn't spam, but that is the price you pay for having such a big forum. Like Gurly said, there are an average of 10k posts here. That's alot of people reading, and posting. Of course if someone can get just ten percent of our thousand member group to read something and sign up, they did a hella good job. I'm not saying it's our fault, it is still their's and they should be punished. I'm just saying we should expect this.

It's taken care of quickly, and there really isn't anyway to stop someone from coming here to spam. They'll get those requirements and start up again. Plus, if they bring in new rules about that stuff people will start to bitch even more about the staff being too strict.

    So true.

Not all spammers can be taken out though, the mods arn't on all the time and when you tell them takes them a while to do it, they can only do so much.

No i meant IP ban. not name ban, otherwise they can still create new accounts and come back and advertise again. Sorry if mods already doing this. i didn't kno that.
