Alright, I'm trying to load Slax ( LiveCD form of Linux ). I download the ISO, burned it to a CD-RW as image, did everything I had to. But when I go into BIOS, the only options for booting from is C: and normal. So what do I do?

You sure? It shouldnt say C:\, or D:\ or anything like that, it should say like HARD DRIVE 1, or IDE PRIMARY, i unno somefin like that. What BIOS do you have? American Megatrends, Pheonix, etc?

Incase you're new to SLAX, and how it boots, here is a few tips:
When it first loads, hit enter and it will boot. When it asks for a username, type "root" (no quotes). When it asks for a password, type "toor" (no quotes). After you are logged in, type "startx" (no quotes), and that should load the GUI.

    Good Luck with everything else.

Here's what it says in the Boot Device Menu:

    Boot Device Menu

    1. Normal
    2. Hard-Disk C:

    Enter Choice

If it matters I have a Dell Dimension 8200.

And I assume it doesn't load the disk when Normal is on higher priority? And you computer is definally reading your cd/dvd drive, yes?

On boot, does the screen give you like two choices, one for setup (usualy the DEL key), and one for boot selection (sometimes F2, but it varies)?

No, it goes back to Windows XP. And yes, it is reading the drives.

Yes, there is setup menu (f2). I scimmed through it and didn't see anything relevant, but I'm a PC noob, so there might be something there. What should I look for?
