Ok so Heres the story. I got a render and saved it to my desktop. I go to photoshop and opened up the file that I put the picture in and the pic isnt there. I went back to the file from the desktop and it was there. It was saved as a png file and thats keeps the transparency. So the only way I could open the picture in photoshop was to convert it to a jpeg. Now that loses its transparency so I have to cut it out again. Question: How do you open the png file in photoshop so that it doesnt lose its transparency.
hmmm thats really werid when i save a PNG. File i just go to PS and hit open and select it.. and it oppens with transparent ground as long as the person who did it actually put transparent BG mayb thats the problem... not u but the render... =P
Alright this is what happened. I went to open as, rather then open and it showed up in my pictures folder. So i open it and it says this. "Cannot open "......." because it is not a valid Photoshop document." I dont get it. I have photoshop 7.0 is that a problem.
Save it as a .PNG with the drop down menu -- Make sure you've merged the visible layers before you save.
It doesnt have png there. I put .png at the end, but it still saved it as jpg. Merged Post: Heres a picture. It doesnt have png as you may see.
Now that is odd =/ It shows up in mine: -- EDIT -- When you installed Photoshop did you click all file types that Photoshop should handle (making Photoshop your Default Image Viewer / Open File Program?) If not, you might have to set Photoshop to be able to use those types of files -- My best guess at the moment.
1. don't choose "open as" that won't work. Just open the file like you open any file, with the "open" button. or "ctrl+o" 2. If you want to save something as png, don't choose "save as", but choose "Save for web", you can save it as png over there. If these 2 options don't work, i advise you to upgrade to photoshop CS2 ^_^
