To start off, i want to make something clear. I don't know the hardware side of computers, i know the coding and design aspects. So when i ask for hardware help speak in terms a noob is able to understand .

When i play WoW, my FPS jumps around from anywhere between 30 and 10 sometimes its just unplayable. I think that it has something to do with my current setup. I'm actually afraid to install any custom UIs, because last time it did, it affected my FPS and made it a little worse than it already is.

    Heres what i currently have:
    Processor: AMD Sempron™ Processor 2800+, MMX, 3DNow, ~1.6GHz
    Memory: 1024MB RAM
    Video Card:
Chip type: RADEON 9600 Series AGP (0x4150)
    DAC type: Internal DAC(400MHz)
    Display Memory: 256.0 MB
Motherboard: ASUS K8N Socket 754 NVIDIA nForce3 250 ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

I know my processor needs to be upgraded fast, but not sure about the ram and the video card. I'm willing to spend about 225 CAD which rounds off to about 200USD. The only games i play is CS:S, BF2 and WoW so i would love to have it optimised to get high FPS in those games. I will probably buy from newegg so please link you're suggestions off there.

    Currently i'm looking at:
    Proc: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819103603
    Video Card:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814122195R
and possibly a new motherboard if mine doesn't cut it for the other two: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813131013

Am I doing the write thing?

Newegg does not ship to Canada, so your out of luck there. But 200 dollars is a very....cheap computer, although it can be done. You should more or less aim at 260 USD. Becuase your proc costs around 90, mobo 84, and vid card is going to be around 90. (I didn't add it, but w/e).

As for ram, just use what you have, 1 gig is plenty. Since your on a tight budget, the PD805 chip has the best overclocking for its money. (Thats what I did). I am running at 3.0 GHz, which isn't a lot, but my Proc was running very hot, and now it is running perfect, and 100% stable.

You should get something along the lines of a Radeon x800 GTO, becuase those are the best for your dollar, in my eyes. I can play Counter-Strike at about 350 FPS, and Counter-Strike Source at an average of 107 FPS.
