My New External Hd

ok ive had this hd 250bg wd essential. for about 2 weeks and i havent over used it and for some reason when i turn my comp on now it doesnt even reconise it but the green light still come on the hd but it doesnt make any loading noise, can anyone help me?

 

Mmm , you sure you pluged in the firewire cable like it should ?

if so , then go back to the store i guess.

Try it on another computer see if it loads. If it does try using another USB or Firewire port on the 1st comp. If none of computers recognize or load the drive then try to exchange it, unless you have important files in the external HD, I would take it appart.

 

why would taking apart an external hard drive work? you think taking something apart will fix it?

 

Might sound stupid, but did you connect the power cable? Most external hdds require it.

 

ok ive fixed it, all i did in the end was just unplug it from the mains for 1 sec then plugged it abck in and it worked, duno why or what happend, but thats for ya help guys
