I have the gfx card tomorrow getting cd/dvd drive and my case, then in about a month or two im gonna get a new Hdd(cause 20 GB sucks), then in about 3 or 4 more months(5/6 from now) i will get a Cpu, then i am getting a new mobo sometime after, then ill get a new gfx card preferibly 7900 gt if its still good by then.the psu is actully good its a 420 Watt which is good for what i run. Im trying to seperate the parts so i can get more money between parts.
priorities are messed up, unless you are low on HDD space getting a new one is worthless and having a larger drive won't improve performance, unless it's at higher rpm or has a lower seek time. you will need to get the CPU/mobo at the same time, your current motherboard will not support anything even remotely recent are you getting a 420W PSU or do you ahve it? if possibel to run a 7900GT as smoothely as possible it's best to have about 450W with around 20amps on the 12V rail or more. I have a 7800GT on a 420W PSU and I will admit that I am pushing it, but I plan to get a better PSU in the enaqr future.
The 420 W comes with the case and thanks for the cpu/mobo help, i need a hdd and theyer cheap so it will be easy, i have like 3 gb and i need like 1 gb or i get these warnings
you don't get warnings about nto having enough HDD space until you actually no longer have enough space to save stuff. think about ti this way, if it took 5 years to fill up 15Gb worth of the drive, you should still have another few months on it. one bad thing though, that motherboard does not support SATA and all the newer drives uses SATA or SATA2 as an interface. if you manage to obtain a board with SATA capabilities, this isn't a bad drive for the cost given its performance and capacity http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822144701
Here is my top priority after what u said Cpu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819104208 mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813130494
wrong sempron and that's an overpriced sempron as well. get the sempron 64 2800+ for 73$ (cheaper, performas better, more efficient) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819104245 again though at such a lwo price range its better to just buy an f'ing dell. also, the motherboard you chose won't be compatable with newer graphics cards as it uses an AGP 3.0 interface which is being fazed out.
well, t\the sempron you chose has 462 pins on the bottom and conects to a motherboard designed to fit a proc with 462 pins, the motherboard you chose has 754 smaller pins and is designed for a proc with 754 smaller pins here is waht I advise though, forego all that sempron crap toss the extra few $ into a socket 939 proc and motherboard which will have some better upgradeability to it. th proc below should perform about 30% better than the sempron 2800+ or more. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819103537 then get this motherboard far more upgradeable for future use as s754 is offically being slated for obsoletion and even 939 is to be obsolete when Am2 comes out, might as well have a somewhat better upgrade path. an FX 60 will more than double the performance of that sempron, expect an FX 62 to be the highest you can hit on 939 leaving a significant upgrade if the time comes which it will(ina few years) then for the motherboard check this out: int GFX is ebtter than your current GFX card. this if you want to OC, sounds fairly good http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813136007 this as another option, can't OC though so is kinda crappy(as the a64 3000+ begs to eb OCed) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16813130520 what cards has ATi made for AGp? so far the best AGP card is the 7800GS if i am nto mistaken.
just make sure to verify parts prior to buying them, and even then don't take our word do some research.
