well i downloaded way to much and its basicly fried it takes 3 hrs (no exageration) just to start up is there anyway to llike just "reset" it? also if i "reset" it will i keep my itunes files(like are they linked to the computer or the actual itunes acount i mean)?
run the system restore disc no, unless you save the infpo to a second media device. if you by some odd chance built it or have a windows disc on hand, use windows repair option.
they typically ship with your laptop. if you don't have one, then it is likely you have a recovery partition in which case, you simply press whichever button (usually an f key) was designated by your CPU manufacturer at startup to launch a complete system restore. If you have neither contact your system manufacturer you might consider a few alternatives to this though. start in safe mode, simply press f8(or is it f10) repeatedly and windows will ask you how you wish to bootup. You won't be able to do a ton as you have minimal drivers and services running but you might be able to get rid of an pests which you do have. now, disable system restore and run every antivirus program you know of(check the sticky here) then reboot and start in safe mode, re-enable systemr estore and you should have a pretty clean system.
lol whats a labtop...its a laptop anyway, if uve got a dell, u can use the recovery partition like xelink said...just press ctrl+f11 at the dell blue bar screen when u reset ur comp, then just restore windwos.
If it takes a long time to load i would suggest turning off some of the loading programs. Start>>Run>> Type msconfig and hit ok >> In the tabs click startup >> Just unarrow the ones you don't need loading >> hit apply then ok. Next download a spyware program like adaware. Then just delete un-needed programs/pr0n.
actually, now that I think about it, dont restore yet...do what monster said. Uninstall all of the apps you dont need, do the msconfig thing, run a program called CLEANUP, degrag ur comp, scan for spyware/adware/malware. Finally, you might want to consider going to run>services.msc and disabling any undeeded apps.
