Ok, this is a tut on how to make a grunge sig, to start out, make a newdocument, with the size of 350x150 pixels, and then hit "D" to resest your colors to default, and then go to filter>render>clouds, it should look like this: Ok, now, after you have done that, take a grunge brush that you like, i used Xcell's Brush Pack #6, which can be found BY CLICKING HEREOk, now, after and start brushing over the clouds in black, i got this: Then after you have done that, make a new layer, and start brushing in white, i got this: Now, you can keep brushing more if you want, until you get a background you like, this is my final result: Now after you have your background you want, go to Layers> Merge Visible so you can take all the background layers, and make them into one OK, so now, we need a render, i am using this one: <------ clickable ^_^ OK, now open up your render, and resize it to the size you want, then drag it into your sig, this is what mine looks like so far: OK, now what we want to do, is make the render blend in with the sig, so, highlight the layer that the render is on, and go to Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Hue/Saturation, and put the saturation to -100, so the render should now look black and white, like this: OK, now what we want to do, is add some color, so go to, Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Color Balance, and use these settings Shadow: +14 -5 +26 Midtones: +100 0 -51 Highlights: +15 -7 -15 And after you have done that, go to Filter>Render>Clouds, and make sure you have the color balance layer highlighted when you do this, it should look something like this: CONTINUED ON NEXT POST
Now after you have that, make another color balance layer, and use these settings Shadow: -40 0 +35 Midtones: -70 0 +58 Highlights: -20 -8 -15 Then after you have done that, once again go to filter>render>clouds, mine looks like this: OK, now for the last color balance layer, once again go to Layer>New Adjustment Layer> Color Balance, and use these settings: Shadow: 0 0 0 Midtones: 0 0 +76 Highlights: 0 0 +20 And yes, you guessed it, once again, go to filter>render>clouds, mine looks like this: Now, this step is optional, if you want to give the background a little effect, highlight the background layer, and go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur, and set the radius to 3.0, then once you have done that, go to Edit>Fade Gaussian Blur, and set the mode to Lighten, if you did that, it will look like this: Now, if you have done the last step, go to Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Brightness/Contrast, and use these settings: Brightness: +26 Contrast +35 Mine now looks like this: OK, so now, we want to add some text, i am using the font, Das Reicht Gut Regular (weird name eh?), and i believe this can be found at www.dafont.com, so anyway, type your name or whatever on the sig, and then go to Layer>Layer Style>Blending Options, and put Drop Shadow on default settings, and then put inner shadow opacity at 40, then put a gradient overlay on default settings, and then clock on stroke, and put it on 1 px, and change the color to white, mine looks like this: Now, all we need to do is add a simple border, make a new layer just above the render layer, and once you have done that, hit ctrl+a, and a dotted line should surround the sig, once you have done that, right click, and hit stroke, and put the settings to 1px, and make the color black, and this is the final result: I know this was pretty basic, but its my first tut, and its for people to learn, hope this helped, post your results if you use it, AND DONT RIP, OR I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN ALSO: thanks to Toi for the text effect, learned that technique from one of his tuts
