I know it's not perfect, but it's my first...was hoping for some pointers/tips/advice from all the pro renderers here.

pretty good esp for a first
with the hair zoom in close and try and use the lasso tool as it gives you a little more space in my opinion anyhow
    keep at it

    there we go:

Since there's a little bit of white around the edge of our render ctrl+click his layer in the layer window. Then go to selection>contract by 2 pixels. Then selection>inverse selection and then hit delete. Now he's a little cleaner but our wallpaper looks more like a pop up book.

So, ctrl+click his layer again, selection>feather 5 pixels. selection>inverse selection, delete then delete again. Deselect by clicking elsewhere on the image and look at the outline of the beast. If it is still a bit white then you need to undo, edit>undo, the deselect and hit delete until it fades well.

    does that work? lol

Not bad for your first 1. Just keep on practicing, and your work will improve.
