Ok when i got my dsl internet it was fine i got like 6kb recieved bytes and like 2k sent... now i'm recieving millions on millions of bytes and sending millions of bytes... could this be a problem or am i just paranoid...?  Merged Post: Please help! Has anyone heard something like this before?
bytes is sa smaller unit than kilobytes, so if you convert those millions of bytes to kilobytes, its still probably around 6,000/2,000kb.
Actually, to be totally accurate... (Starting at bits) 1 bit, smallest unit of measure 4 bits = 1 nibble (No, I'm not joking) 8 bits / 2 nibbles = 1 byte 1024 bytes = 1 Kilobyte(Kb) 1024 Kilobytes = 1 Megabyte(Mb) 1024 Megabytes = 1 Gigabyte(Gb) 1024 Gigabytes = 1 Terabyte(Tb) 1024 Terabytes = 1 Petabyte(Pb) Went a litte over and beyond there, but whatever...
Yeh i know... but what the hell is it i used to recieve alot less and now im getting like... now i have recieved 55mb... Merged Post: Please help i wanna find out where all these mb's are coming from 'cos it's not me and if they are staying on my computer i want to know where
It won't stay on your computer if you aren't downloading anything. And I suppose that a lot of the megabytes come from the signatures/pictures here on gamerenders if you are here a lot. Because basicly you download every single picture you look at on internet, the only differnece is that it move to your ram as soon as you get it and then it disappear from your computer.
It will dissapear. All that data is stored in a temp file C:\Documents and Setting\Your name\Local Setings\Temp. It stays there until it is overwritten/deleted/expires, etc.
