Site TemplateSecond & Completed Attempt What do you guys think? My first try at a template for my clan.. Thing is, I don't know how to code nor do I have a coder! ^_^ Woo.
Well. The thing is. TBH it needs a LOT of work. Stay away from bevel, and if you dont even no how to code, definietly stay away from bevel and gradients. Sorry but I really dont like it. When your new at templates you shouldnt make a site for it until you no thats its perfect and that someone would like to view. Read some tuts and ask some experienced people for help.
Alrite. I did look at a few templates as well, just none of them really caught my eye. Any more comments?
try looking here for inspiration, these are 2 gaming templates i REALLY like and are relatively easy to replicate once you familiarize yourself with the website building tools in photoshop. http://templates.surreal-media.com/GT6red/ http://templates.surreal-media.com/GT7/ My biggest recommendation to any newcomer to website would have to be... dont be intimidated by looking at another website for its design, 90% of them are extremely simple to remake, its simply the color structure that really gets a site finished and also, take your time, there is no need to race to the finish line when it comes to large canvas pieces. A great layout is nothing without great colors that mix/match well. Now, dont be like someone else on this forum (anyone who visits the website forum here will know who im referring to, so no need to mention his name directly) and find one template and try to recreate it, your just going to get flamed. Try to look at 5-10 different templates and pick and choose what you personally like from each template and incorporate it into your template with your own stylings added to it. Like anything else graphics oriented, it takes some time to get used to. Website design outside custom 3D renders that you make yourself for flash templates and stuff is one of the easiest areas of graphic design for alot of people. Its usually in a matter of adding some shapes and messing with the blending options.
Thanks., buddy. At least someone around here isn't so harsh. Well, I remade the template a bit- Reposted the new link as well.
First off, try to stay away from bevel, emboss, tech shapes, and fonts that are hard to read or aren't default, such as pixel fonts. I would stay with arial, tahoma, verdana or similar fonts. Also, try not to use pattern overlay unless you know how and when to use it, otherwise, it is just overkill. I don't feel like posting a few paragraphs, so those are some basic tips.
