I always had the policy of forcing companionship on my pets.

had a cat from the pound once. that sucker was afraid of EVERYTHING. loved to run behind the refridgerator, behind the couch etc. just really tried to get the hell away from EVERYTHING. Hated people, not a happy cat. Mother begged me to leave it alone.

one year later cat slept at my feat each night and was generally sociable, even had a neighbor compliment on how the think was acting much friendlier and the like.

then it fell asleep under a car's wheel.

    Wouldn't you like to know

purring is normal means the cat is enjoying its self and feel comfortable around you and its surrounding.

Cats clean them selves. Bathing a cat is not recommended but people do it. I have had my cat for about 2 years and only bathed her once because she got into a bottle of jam.

Reason why should would run away, play. My cat loves it when i chase her try to catch her etc. try buying some toys if u haven't already and teach her (if you can) to play fetch.

Sneezing can mean as others have said cold or even allergies. My cat sneezes and it's normal. When we sneeze it doesnt mean we are sick or dieing :)

judging by what you have just told use i feel ur cat is all ready starting to adjust to the new surroundings :)

Yeah I've had my cat for a couple of years and everything u described sounds like normal behavior. The eye mucus thing is something my cat gets as well. My vet said it was the cat scratching after going to the litter box, so make sure that litter box is always clean and there is enough littler in it when you change it. Just lick the mucus off his eye and he'll be fine.....or u can just use a damp cloth.... Remember that cats will often pick up habits from when they were kittens, and running up the steps and looking down can just be it telling you that it wants you to come up. I used to knock over my cat and rub its belly when he was a kitten, now my cat sleeps on his back, with all four paws spread eagle!!!!! its so funny!

my cat used to have tears too, im not sure hwat it means, i dont think its the same as it is for us lol, cats dont cry when they are sad, they meow or kinda moan or w\e. also purring is a good thing, they do that when u scratch they chin :P oh and giving ur cat a bath is like a war, she will never like it but u gotta give it to her maybe 4 times a year or so, not too often. and remember to keep the water away from her head and ears, cuz that will harm her. i used to have the same type of cat that u do, also a female, a while back but we had to give her away :( and i had another cat that died not too long ago, which was very painful :(

    hope i helped
