This is just what everyone wants to see, so I don't need any comments about needing an OS, Mouse, keyboard, ect.....

So, remember. I am overclocking this, so check up on it for me, make sure everything looks good and is compatible. I am not sure that Zalman fan is compatable, so check that. Thx for all the input.

*EDIT* - I have decided to change to Mushkin RAM, instead of the OCZ I was originally getting. If you think this is the wrong idea, tell me.

Also, added RAM Cooling and Northbridge Cooling. Tell me if I need something different on these, or if they will suffice for my OCing needs.

Also, someone said I should get a Thermal Right XP heatsink, and then just get a fan for that. Thoughts????

Also, thinking of getting an EVGA 7900gt instead of the x1900xt.

looks good... and as you might know, you can OC at any time and un-OC sat anytime. Best use of a system is to only OC at a point where it needs it.

might want to look into a cheap cooling system for the ram, doesn't have to be insane or anything but yeh. same applies for the northbridge

Why dont you get just 1 150gig raptor instead of 2 74 gigs? And no, get the 1900xt if you have to money. Not sure also if those CPU coolers are compatible.

Because if I RAID two 74gbs, it is faster than one 150gb.

Ok you can drop the Opteron 170 to a 165 especially if you are overclocking. YOu can drop the PSU to an Antec Smart Power II 500W or 550W which will save a fair amount of money.

This cpu cooler is the best on the market at the moment its alot better than the zalman - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835106061

    floppy?

  8. why would you cool the northbridge?

i thnk the 7900gt is better...

that northbridge cooler is a bit much. you probably can just get by on passive cooling or maybe passive with a cheap fan. unless you do EXTREME OCing there is no need for that.

this would most likely be sufficient and it wouldn't be as likely to block something like your graphics card(I have a friend who had to make a custom heatsink because of this)
