Lately I've been having problems with my mouse, and now its starting to just freeze. Its a trackball mouse made by microsoft (don't ask why its a trackball, i wanted to try something new). So now I have this old mouse that was from my computer from about 6-7 years ago now that is really annoying to use. So can anyone please help me with why my mouse will freeze and/or lag a lot.

    Thanks

what's the last time you cleaned the ball and/or the sensors? open it and clean that out with a kleenix. and use some alcohol to clean the ball..

If that doesnt improve, check to make sure the connection is snug.

and if nothing works, go to the next person in line.

    check mouse drivers.

oh and sometimes (my friends comp did this)

whenever he moved his mouse his comp wuld lag. i fixed it by ending all his processes that werent needed. maybe try that to

ctrl+alt+delete > processes dont end anything u dont know.

Pop the ball outta there and you will see that it is on rollers. Clean the ---- outta the rollers, make sure you use alchohol and not water. Mouses are just like any other mechanical part, they wear and breakdown. If push comes to shove, just buy a new mouse, and this time get an optical one because they are the sex.

ya, mouses are cheap these days, and a trackball mouse would be a clearance item i'm guessing. But yea, clean the ball(s) (lol) and use alcohol, not water. But if you can, get a new mouse. Ebay would have super cheap mouses.

no it wasnt cheap actually, compared to what i could have gotten that would've suited me. I'm cheap when it comes to keyboards and mouses, and this mouse cost $30! Thats a lot to me!
