I'm personally glad GameRenders will be staying as IPB, and moving to IPB2...alot of nice features we can offer via that.

Invision Power Board is very secure, but how can it safeguard itself from coding(such as HTML?) Most of the small stuff you want to do, can be done via bbcodes.

Anyways, i'd like to add on to what Bona Fide said, and give you a few other advantages:
    • Download database
    • New Gallery(that works! lol)
    • (Still in discussion) Possible a system that allows you to sell your own work to others for real USD.
Thats all i can think of, i'm really excited though :)

Not trying to argue with you, BFTP, but here are my thoughts:

Many professional forums use vBulletin, like WebHostingTalk and TalkFreeLance, and I prefer it over IPB 2.0.4.

However, if it was IPB 2.1.1, I prefer that over vBulletin.

About the modifications, my opinion is that the download database and the gallery aren't that fun because you can just post links to downloads and renders. That other modification sounds really nice, though. :D

Those sites use vBulletion because mainly, their there to POST IN. Don't offer such features as a arcade, store to sell real(or credit items), galleries, etc.

Invision Power Board is the best forum software for this sort of site, unless vBulletion gets bfarber, dean, or Outlaw to switch over, IPB will always be #1. Chances of that = zilch, since bfarber now works for Invision Power Services ;)

Well, not exactly one of the "oldies" around here, so it's quite a sudden change I guess. Can't wait in any case. :D
