    Hello,

I'd like to know if I replace the Window's start-up music with a clip of my own without corrupting anything?

    Thanks,

Go to start > config panel > sound. Tab sound > Windows Logon/start > Edit. You will need to convert you file first to .wav first.

    This is what I did.

Step one: Before you begin, close all programs except your anti-virus and firewall.
Step two: Get a short .WAV file, preferably 2-6 seconds long.
Step three: Create two copies, name these copies Windows XP Logon and Windows XP Startup.
Step four: Cut and paste them into your WINDOWS/Media folder
Step Five: Restart your computer, with the sound on, and be amazed!

...Perhaps when I'm fully finished modding some stuff I will create a more detailed guide.

I wrote up a little guide about modding the sound. You can view the guide HERE.
