The launch of Microsoft Surface marks the beginning of a new technology category and a user-interface revolution. Surface, Microsoft ’s first surface computer, provides effortless interaction with digital content through natural hand gestures, touch and physical objects. Surface computing breaks down traditional barriers between people and technology. 'Nuff said.See it for yourself.
This looks really cool. This will be great for graphics I'm thinking. No more need for Wacom tablets. Although I guess it will be bad for Wacom.
it's great to see but i would never buy it because - you probably need a special banking card, that cellphone etc. cause the program has to recognise what it is - it probably costs alot of money - normal pc's are working alot quicker then this. but it's cool, nothing for me though -_-
exactly what i was thinking Surface isn't a phone...comparing Surface to the iPhone is like comparing Xbox Live to a PSP. they are 2 completely different things. one is a service while the other is actually a product
In profits. The iPhone is gonna be the best cell phone out there, and MS Surface will probably be a big hit for office computers and whatnot, so they're in different leagues, but the companies mainly just want to make more money than each other, and he's saying MS will get more profits off this than Apple will off the iPhone.
It looks pretty awesome, but it's been mentioned in one of their videos, Perspective Pixel has been making stuff for the government whatever like that. http://www.perceptivepixel.com/
we had similar tech back in `95 noone much cared. what's going to make this change now? If I have the choice of moving my hand half an inch with a high-prescision mouse, or 2 feet with a touch screen I'll use the damned mouse. also unless onscreen keyboards improve a lot this won't do well and voice recognition has it's downfalls, namely the fact that ti's not developed enough and that it's noisey, there are times I don't want to have what I'm typing be audible, actually there are a lot of times - 2 in the morning being one of them(for the convenience of others) and games... ehh don't think FPSes would work all too well with this.
-Not really. It works on WiFi and Bluetooth. That simple. -Yes -I don't think its meant for home uses yet. Microsoft announced that its going to be released in mid winter in restaurants and hotels and what nots but not home.
might be a bit interesting, but im with xelink on this one, i mean it would be cool for a bit but sometimes you dont want to move much and a mouse comes in handy. the onscreen keyboard might work better then it does now but it still has some work.... good idea but needs some work
