I have a realtek hd audio onboard soundcard. I just picked up a headset and cant get the mic to work, but the speakers work. How do i install the mic, i dont have voice recognition so the xp help didnt work and i have installed the latest drivers for my card.
1) make sure the right cord from the mic/headset is plugged into the right slot. wouldnt believe how many times i have done this. 2) sometimes you have to restart your system after you plug it in so it reads it. 3) sometimes a mic or w/e you got has a `mute` button. make sure that isn't on `mute`.
hmm also see if the mic volume is down ? also see if u *might might need drivers for the mike* what are using the mike for ? maybe its the program settings
