I got a new comp about 3 months ago memory worked fine together (2gigs 2x1gig) and my comp started getting the blue screen of death (physical memory dump) so i removed one of the gigs to see if a stick was bad and it works fine i downloaded mem test 86 and the stick i thought was bad passed so for some reason i get the blue screen of death (physical memory dump) when I have the 2 gigs in now any suggestions?

Try and get a photo of what the error codes are on the BSOD.
Does it not perform the physical memory dump under any BSOD? When i had repeated blue screens, it said stuff about dumping ther memory. So it could be unrealted to the ram?

How often does this happen? Has it been getting more frequent? I'm no expert on BSOD's but i'll try and look into it. Make sure it's not over heating.

    Here's an article on it,
    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329284

try clearing your ram in bios or interchanging the sticks, or trying a third ram slot if available.

And yes Lettmu, it appears on every BSOD

It is exactly what used to happen with me, I removed the bad sticks and now it doesn't appear anymore.

Hmm, i had that article up too haha. I'd suggest trying different sticks in your current configuration. Then we can either rule out the memory, or determine it is the cause. But if you've been running it ok for months, i wonder why it jsut started. hmm

    i don't see it posted :D

and you could always take out the so called "good stick" and replace it with the "bad stick" to rule out if its the mobo only or jsut the stick of ram,

It my be the memory bank on the mobo

Do me a favor, run each stick seperately in a mem test on its own. But this is what I want you to do. hit c for configuration, go to 3 for select tests, hit 7 for test 7 then let it run. Let it pass for 11 times. If it can pass 11 times on each stick, its good.

It some times takes a few passes for an error to show up.

The good thing about these mind blowing problems is that you then learn of this certain problem and then would know how to deal with it.

Have you overclocked the system at all? I'd recommend checking your PC temperatures, as an MCE error can often be caused by overheating parts. If the temps are high, you might just need to reseat your cooler.
