I just installed vista on my computer in which I previously had Windows XP. If im just browsing the web im usually fine but if i try to install just about anything im fine until I restart my computer. When my computer boots back up I get the Blue Screen of Death which shows memory dumping and then restarts. I have to then put the Vista disk in my computer to repair the problem. It keeps happening over and over so I have to keep repairing my comp. I don't know how this makes much sense but it seems as if I get the blue screen and I put the Vista disk in my computer it boots up fine though sometimes it boots up with explorer having problems and I have to re-restart my computer. I don't know if the disk thing was just a coincident or not but it seemed to work.

I cant put the error yet because I cant remember how to not make my computer restart when I get the blue screen... After I get the blue screen and I get the computer working again, that box that says I have a problem has something about blue screen and points to a mini dump file.

If anyone has any clue on what would be helpful I would be much appreciated. Also when I try chkdsk it tells me something about not having privileges or something of that nature.

Don't know if the will help....

I think you should first run chkdsk. Make sure you are running the PC as administrator (or right-click cmd.exe, run as admin, then type "chkdsk /r")

    hope this helps
