maybe read up on some tutorials

the render could use some blending
the background is a bit boring
    and the text needs work

try blending in your render by carefully using some effects over it, while you make sure the face stays clean
get rid of the grid on the background and use some more colors like the yellow that is already in your render
last make sure you use simple text or no text at all ;)

Would be better with more blending for the render and some effects on the left of the render. Good work for beginner.

a good source to make your bg is multiple copies of your render spread throughout your canvas until its filled , when doing this make sure no skin parts are showing, if so, erase it, then either merge them all or each individual copy of the render used to fill bg can be distorted like the wave filter or ripple, move em around play with the filters settings and bam there you have a bg.. next grab the blur tool and blur some of the darker areas and some light areas to give you more depth, always think there is like 3 depth fields ,1: background, 2:mid area plus where main render/subject will be, and 3:foreground which in most cases will be the sharpest and better contrastas the layers progress to foreground reduce strength on blurring and only blur as needed on depth plaines 2&3, To add more texture in bg you can always use c4d's or more distortion filters using yet again copies of your render...you cant go wrong using your render/subject as your bg and foreground effects hence you cant go wrong with the coloring, once you learn this you can build onto it with other elements to help your composition.
