Marketplace Bump Button

Yes well you can maybe edit the mod as your good with IPB hey Hydro

 

I am no coder, I generally do most of my mod extra edits with trial and error on a test board. I wont do it on GR though, normally dont mess with adding extra scripting to the mods themselves, I leave that to the mod creators.

 

It says right in the description that members can bump other members topics. I will wait for more staff input on this, but I am pretty excited. If only there was a way that each person could only bump 1 topic per 24 hours, that would 100% eliminate the 'bump' posts, and we could use that as another fine to help remove credits from the system.

 

Depending on the coding of the mod, it probably wouldn't be too hard to add that. Although, that would require creating a database table of each bump and not allowing a bump if a topic is in the database, then deleting it after 24 hours. I'm sure there are other ways about going about doing it, but I'm not good enough with PHP .

 

I am really glad most of you are liking the idea. I hope this idea is actually inforced to Game Renders.

Well we can make rules to go past that. For example all posts in the marketplace by members have to be useful to the topic and not just things to bump the topic.

 

Yea but still other members like friends will still bump it, but this will also cut down MYSql erros drastically and there also has to be a limit like 1/24 hours

 

Well, not the problem with friend's bump it can be sorted with only the topic starter being allowed to bump the topic. Yes MySQL errors will cut down even though they have now and there will be less MySQL server load. There will of course be a limit which we have talked about in the other posts.

Come on more staff and members post all your views!

 

if this is installed, there could always be a fine for people who post that arent buying. just make it that in all the marketplace forums, you can only post if youre buying something, and then if you want to bump it just use the button. cause then if there werent so many posts in an auction saying "nice tag", then it would make auctions and any other selling SO much easier.

 

A button for bumping would be an excellent addition. But it should be 2 per day instead of 1 imo.
