    im thinking of either getting Mario Kart Wii or Super Smash Bros Brawl.

    i just want to know if you can have 2 or more local players and connect to the internet to play with more people.

    i know that you can do this with SSBB but not sure about mario kart

    Yes with Mario Kart, you can use two wheels (WiiWheels or WiiMote) against each other. And you can play online, (races, battles), but when you join you will spectate until the currect race is over with, then you join in and play.
