I just like how swine flu isn't even present in swine. It "includes in its characteristics swine, avian and human virus components." Thus, we are idiots.

Not only that, we have way more deaths due to the common flu every year. And it's the same group of people this strain is killing. Hmm... Could it be that this is just more contagious than the other strains, and we're blowing it out of proportion?

I would bet that the CDC and WHO were just throwing the possibility of a pandemic out there, and the media gobbled it up and blew it out of proportion. The last major pandemic was the Spanish Flu in 1918, and that affected and killed members of every age group, not just juveniles and elderly.

I'll worry if it gets substantially worse, but I somehow doubt it would kill me even if I got it. There aren't even any reported cases in my state yet anyway.

Oh wait, we have a probable case in my city. Whoopdeedoo. That's what happens when you live by an airport.

    Yeah.
I'm just going to say this again, though a little different.

The Flu isn't actually little flying pigs.

Draxxus I found it funny. Not completely, but it made full sense. Also made sense as to made jokes about the swine flu, because until the end of May, I could care less. It'll take about a month to either get HOLY----BAD, or die off, so..

Right. We're overly serious because we found an unfunny joke, ehm, unfunny?

    Kay.
The UK has had 8 confirmed cases of it so far.

It's not a big deal and it's being blown way out of proportion; granted, those in poor areas who can't afford health care are going to be hit hard but for the average population it's not worth worrying about.

apparently Tamiflu works. tastes awful though; took it when i had the regular flu and it actually made me sicker until i got better.

Pretty certain "Tamiflu" will not work on on Swineflu...
Also, why is it everyone cacks their pants every time this stuff happens, BSE etc... it comes and it goes, and if it comes to the worst situation (becomes a real pandemic) most country's are stocking up on medicines... and taking samples and sorting it out, we seem to thrive on fear these days.
