This happened yesterday to mines my bro ussed GUNZ and bough up task manager and basically a blank black sscreen Tried restart a couple of times it worked Well im 99999% sure that it alters the system files and settings and not your own personal files - btw wt wud it do with the personal files If u dont have any restore points then ur sscrewed but you bound to have some GD LUK i hope it works
Once again, thanks. But, I remember someone on a different board using system restore once. She said one time her Favorites got deleted, so she used System restore, and they were back, so I'm curious bout' the opposite, if I lose newly added favorites. As for the one zip thing that can hold 5 gigs, can it hold favorites files? How many can I have? How will I find that file later so I can re-download it incase anything happens?
Ya, extract your favorites to the desktop or where ever then put in in the folder that your are zipping and it will be fine.
did u try looking in user accounts? or u can do this try restorin da comp urself to an earlier date, before ur computer screwed up, it just might work, go to control panel, category view, performance and maintenance, and on the left there should be a system restore icon, click it and restore to a date before ur comp gayed up put the important files on discs and other computers or email them to yourself
@Maul: I really suck at computer things. How do I zip files? @Thoth243: Knew that already Btw, will it affect other user accounts on this computer besides my own? This computer is one of 3 shared by my family.
i think system restore, affects the whole computer and i think that it will also affect the other user accounts, but like i said, you dont lose anything and well they wont either
Well, I found another solution, but there's still a problem... See, someone on another board told me to just make a new user account on the computer, and transfer all the files through the :C Drive. One problem is, is how I can get my favorites to that account...
if your tlkin about internet firefox favourtires then try moving the whole mozilla folder to your new account, if that works then good, if not then copy the URL's on notepad and put them on the new account
This is sad, all these people and you still cant fix it. First off, CTRL+ALT+DEL isnt how you minimize, use ALT+TAB, second, windows crashes all the time with out these repercussions. Just back up your documents and setting folder, system registry and do the system restore.
Actually, I can fix it. I don't have all the time in the world to back up all my files on a disk or zip it or something, I actually have a life. I don't know everything about the computer, I suck at HTML for one thing. I don't know how to zip files, etc., I'm only 13. So if someone could give me instructions it'd make things much easier.
