    Looks okay so far

Here's some tips for it though:

On the planet, make it a bit darker at the top left of the pic, just to show how dark that's supposed to be in contrast with the light effects at the front of the planet

Where the lighting effects are, firstly delete the red circle around it because it's obvious you used a lensflare, and it makes it look a bit tacy
Also with the lighting effects, place some ontop of the planet aswell instead of having them all under it.

And maybe make a smaller planet or a nebula on the right hand side to fill it out a bit :]

This was my 1st piece in a long while, was mainly to get the feeling back. I'll be working on other pieces shortly.

However, i made some adjustments enlight of your opinions which i agreed upon. And some more of my own.

Top left must be my monitor settings, looks pretty dark to me.

Cool looking planet, commended DA-side :P but do think the planet's surface look's a bit "painted". Quite like the outcome, but think you may have been going for more realism.
