Hello!, I'm looking for a partner. As the Topic Title says.. Basically, I want to start a site to release open source scripts to the public. I have an addiction to PHP and I can never think of a project that I can follow allll the way through because so many ideas start swarming once I get something on it's feet. Like, the purpose, the look, etc. I'd want to release PHP scripts, graphics, anything my 'team' is fluent in producing. I have an excellent host and have scattered random things goin on there. I have a forum setup (phpbb- no work put into it yet, completely open to building) where I'd like to have a community end up gathering. I don't want to go into this advertising it as a sworn 'community', which I'm hoping will take my focus of that and into the quality and quantity of content. I'm looking for someone to be able to run the forums, keep the categories and forums in order and practical. Also be willing to upload and share their work and ideas, and lend a hand in development, in turn earning Vice President status when 'ranks' come into play. (if I feel comfortable with the person). Someone who is confident in their all around 'web' abilities. Putting our heads together, learning what we don't know (forum software skins/themes, full websites, whatever it may be) and eventually dominating the resource and community scene. This is the first time I've reached out like this, so I'm hoping the seemingly un------ format doesn't shake my image. I'm wanting to be very organized and fluent with this project. I'm basically looking for someone with creativity and talent (like I, not saying I'm anything special (but who knows..)) who is kind of tired of the same old scene and not being able to put their learned skills to a satisfying, rewarding use. If there's any questions about what I'm shooting for please ask and I'll answer the best I can. Otherwise just post your interest and we'll take it from there. Requirements of mine? Well, PHP skills would be a most definite plus, organization and uniqueness. Photoshop/any graphics talent also a plus. Realistically, there are no 'requirements', as I will not overlook someone just because of a missing piece. I like the way this would seem to play out if it gets on its feet. It's kind of difficult to portray the exact image I want in your head here, but I think 'Practical Developing' is a fitting phrase. I want to incorporate anything and everything into the content of the website. I guess also let me know if these posts arrise all the time and it'll be hard to be taken seriously. This isn't a 'spur of the moment' idea either, a genuine interest for a hopeful outcome.
I'm assuming you'll get little to no (decent) response to this seeing as this is your first post. Not that I doubt you're not serious about the project, but it's just the way things work around here (and pretty much everywhere in the world); newbies get a bit shunned when it comes to these type of questions, simply because nobodies knows you and because it feels a lot like you're just here to ask the question and then leave. So yeah, you might get lucky and find someone, but I'm just stating the chance might be slim and that you shouldn't really take it the wrong way if you don't
