Well im thinking of using this pc just for web design and buy a totally new computer for gaming.

i've been looking through http://ibuypower.com and i can't decide which one to buy. I don't want anothe 1,000$ i want something rather cheap but will get the job done i dont care about how high qauilty the graphic is but as long as their good im not that much of a gamer.

im looking more into the notebook area more than anything.

well, theres alianware, but its very expensive, try the dells xps desktop because the notebook might cost a bit more than 1000

    XPS 400
    Entry-level Gaming

Features Dual Core processor, Genuine Windows® XP Media Center 2005 Edition, DVD and CD-RW drives, and a Flat Panel display.

the laptops are very costly becuase of the size of da screen.

    which is synonymous to saying:
features obsolete dual core processors based on net burst technoogu featuring high power consumption, even hgher latencies and the inability for the 3.2GHZ PXE(which costs 1000$) to compete with the athlon x2 3800+ which costs 700$ less.

this is what you should do build your own

Athlon X2 3800+(get the opertron 165 if you want to OC more) 300$

    2GB ram 156$

    case 33$

    PSU 30$ or 46$

    motherboard: 70$

now for the GFX card, th 7800GT will take you over the price limit, but it's good for the bang/$ and last a while. The 6800GS is also good, but not quite where the 7800GT is

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130256 250$

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130267
    150$

primary hardrive for OSSes and games 130$
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822144160

    secondary HDD for storage 95$
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...82E16822145087R

    OS 95$ windows XP home

didn't add the prices but should be close

1095$ after the OS< if you want to downgrade to the 9800GS, or ditch a hardrive, then you can.

EDIT: misread, you said you didn't want to spend 1000$... then tell us what you do want to spend. you could probably knock 250 off the price by getting a motherboard with the ati radeon x200 express chips set which runs about 70$ and includes INT GFX.
