Looking for a general opinion on something

We've been discussing it among staff for a while now and I'd like to throw it in here as well because we can't really figure it out.

A render gallery

Should we add one or not? We've been over and over it and there are advantages and disadvantages.
We had one in the past but that was hardly being used and with us having the forum parts for the renders, that sorta speaks against it. But adding a gallery might however be more usefull as to looking for renders.

So we just want to hear what you all think about it

 

I think it will need to be moderated.. perhaps only prem access and premium renders/rotw get put in there. The thing i noticed with the last one was that they were lower quality (still good cuts) but not as high quality as what was being put in the prem renders forum.

The other alternative is to fill it up regularly with all kinda of decent cut renders. So theres a large library of renders. I dont mind either to be honest.

 

TBH, unless we're dealing with volume (which we're not, at least not atm), a forum section for renders works just as well. A disused, and ramshackle gallery makes things worse. At the moment, I'd say it's not necessary.

 

i agree with inverse, if people want renders theres already something here and if ur want quality we got the prem section aswell, the gallery with be kind of pointless when we got a section for them already

need a fast reliable system to find renders and moderation to get rid of the hundreds of dead renders

I think you should add one.
Also if you do I also think you should make it were anyone can post a render in there with a serch box to find exactly what your looking for.

 

Agreed. Inverse does have a point, tho.

 

Just repeating whats already been said. No need for it atm. Until the render section becomes booming once more i seen no real need. Although there would be the bonus of having a search feature in the gallery.

technically yes, but with the amount of junk, dead topics, wrongly tagged/named topics etc etc it's pretty useless

unless the boards are cleaned of all the dead topics, they're not really usefull...

 

well that would be an option too.

 

I like the idea of a render gallery but maybe it would be a good idea to hold off on it for awhile. Forum activity isn't so great at the moment and I would imagine that a render gallery would take away some of the little activity that does exist.

 

i have too agree with you. i think a big clean up for the render section would be a good idea.
