(BiG`Dave) Okies BIG Boss man, its your turn! How do you feel today Mr. Llamammamamaaman?

(Llamaman) not bad, not too nervous about the interview :)

(BiG`Dave) You will be... you will be

(BiG`Dave) So... what member number are you at gamerenders?

(Llamaman) as you can see by my post stats.... 1

(BiG`Dave) May i ask how did you get #1 on the website?

(Llamaman) Well i did come up with the idea of Gamerenders, so i'm guessing I would have been the first one to register.

(BiG`Dave) I knew that, just to clarify that you started this website for those who did not know.

(BiG`Dave) So, do you want to explain to us how you came up with the idea of Gamerenders ?

(Llamaman) the main reason was because I saw that "renders" were popular in the design community, yet nobody had created a site dedicated to them. There was lots of site that offered galleries containing them but there was no site that was dedicated to them. Since I was always on the lookout for potential good ideas that had not been exploited before, that was the reason I founded GR.

(BiG`Dave) Do you want to explain yourself a little bit to the members who do not know who you are quite like i do? e.g. name age etc. etc.

(Llamaman) ok, my name is Joe and I am 17 and from England, and for those of you who don't know, I founded GameRenders in April 2004.

(BiG`Dave) When do you turn the big 18?

    (Llamaman) 9th of November, can't wait :)

(BiG`Dave) I bet, you lucky git... 2 weeks older than me :/ grrrrrrrrrrr

(BiG`Dave) Well i know many people are wondering, just how did you get Gamerenders so popular?

(Llamaman) Good question, many people ask me this. The main trick I originally used was to submit lots of different and original rendering tutorials that appeared on many popular tutorial sites such as http://www.good-tutorials.com. This helped get the hits, but these hits often converted into members. The only explination for the people visiting actually signing up was because at the time, there was no other render site out there like GameRenders, so many people joined to get the rich selection of free images that people posted in the forum and gallery.

(BiG`Dave) Thats seemed to have worked well for you.

Now to submit questions that have been asked from the great members of GR.

Running a forum is almost the same as running a business; you deal with customers (forum members), you have to balance your accounts (with costs like buying a server and forum licences) and you have to provide support. Since I've always wanted to run my own business, this is what inspired me to run a forum.

To answer your second question, I defenetly never expected GameRenders to become this big. Before I started the site, I knew the idea may become popular but I didn't really think that the idea of a render site would have this much appeal. I suppose one of the reasons GR has remained popular is because of the other services it offers, such as the marketplace, your stuff and battles.

It defenetly has to be the marketplace. This is obviously due to the fact that credits are so popular now, and because of the variety of items and serives that people offer in there for them.

This is defenetly because of the fact that I always try to make sure that there are not too many credits being created, and that there is a steady stream of credits being removed from the forum as well as being created. I also make sure that nobody is abusing the system or is gaining credits unfairly, which makes defenetly helps make them worth more.

Running GameRenders! Having to answer 100's of PMs a day and deal with tons of reports would be very tough work for most people :)

We get many many questions like this from many different users. The fact remains that we have only a limited amount of moderator places in the forum, and thousands of members wanting to be one. This is demonstrated by the 100's if not 1000's of Staff Applications we have received. We can obviously only accept the people that we know are very high quality members, with a good reputation, warnings record and who have made a decent Staff Application. So the answer to your question is maybe... you just need to show that you have the best reputation and potential moderating abilities around the forum (which I know wasn't the answer you were looking for :/ ).

I can't make any 100% accurate judgements until I have met her personally, but she does seem to be :)

    <!--QuoteBegin-Anonamous

Are we invited to your 18th?[/quote]

    No :D

(BiG`Dave) Ok back to me :)

(BiG`Dave) What is this site pokerdeuce?

(Llamaman) It is a new poker related discussion forum. Anyone interested in Poker should defenetly consider checking it out ;)

(BiG`Dave) What else do you have planned for the coming months as the year draws to an end?

(Llamaman) GameRenders will hopefully be upgrading to IPB 2 ASAP. There is no exact date this is going to happen, since we will only do so when all the modifications that we use currently on IPB 1.3 are available for IPB 2. After that, we will be looking to release a new website for GameRenders in addition to the forum.

(BiG`Dave) What do you say to sum up the great people of Gamerenders in 1 sentence?

(Llamaman) I love them to bits, they are all my minions... Now bow before me minions <3 (j/k)

(BiG`Dave) Is there anything else you would like to say to the good people of GR before we go?

(Llamaman) I would just like to remind everyone that GameRenders is supposed to be a fun and "non-hardcore" graphics and gaming related forum. Those people who do not agree with certain aspects of the site such as the trading of credits should recognise that they are present to make the forum more interesting and entertaining.

Thank you Llamaman <3 We all love you!!!
