    Right to the point...

In every game I own I get these little 1-2 second LAG SPIKES. Like I can't move, or shoot. Just a quick freeze, and then right back to normal. This mostly happens at the wrong times with my luck (flying in BF2, or Gun battle in COd4). It's not GFX or CPU lag or RAM. But I can't really say.. Some say it might be my ISP? But How do I know for sure? Is there a way I can check? Program maybe?

Please, Help me here.. Im desperate. Every game, every day. BF2, BF2142, CoD2, CoD4, all my games.. I get these little lag spikes or whatever you want to call them

    Thanks

    My SPECS:

    Intel Quad Core Q6600
    2GB RAM
    8800GTX

    COX ISP Provider.

I used to have that problem as well.

Are you behind a router? If so, you probably have to open the correct ports for the games.

he was, though the GTX is techncially only the number 2 card and the core 2 quad arch did technically come in 06.

    check back ground services.
and to be blunt, it might be the ISP, i you're getting lag at times which are demanding on net bandwidth well...

Try this, as it fixed my problem

    Right click My Computer
    Click Manage
    Select Services and Applications
    Select Services
Scroll Down until you find Wireless Zero Configuration
    Disable it
    Play games w/o lag

You could pour some vegetable oil into your PC... cos it might be overheating. The oil will cool it down.

Also, you might try uninstalling paint, and then going into task manager and end the process "explorer.exe". This usually fixes all problems.

Also, is a firewall doing it? If so, grab a fire extinguisher and put it out. Those things piss me off so much.
