Woops. I just knew kirbir's a girl. :P Anyway, I only read the 1st and last page honestly. Briefly. :P

    My view :

The staff have to start acting like REAL staff of the site. No offense to the staff really. Just that, you guys tend to be over friendly with the members, which in a way, is not too good if you catch my drift. I was a staff once at a big gaming site with way more members than this and we were kinda "forced" to be -----. For example, with proper english, ----- attitude yadda yadda. With all these in place, one can then see a strong system behind GR.

As of now, I dont really recognize much staff members. I dont even know who the owner of GR is. Sorta explains everything. *shrugs* With a strong staff squad, I think whatever is suggested can REALLY be implemented properly and no squabbles outside of the squad is present sorta thing.

(My view only shows a portion of what I feel from what the topic is intended for.)

And regarding the reputation system, it really is up to the maturity of the community to make such a modification a success.

Though, I really really feel that newbies tend to get easily cheated. For example they see a topic "Tag made by blah blah blah." which referenced to someone supposedly very good in making signatures as classed by NSL. What these newbies do not know is that they cant differentiate good from not as they are, well, newbies. So, it the success of the site is really up to the whole community which is then backed by a strong staff.

    ;)

Even if i were to put that in all my topics i still don't think that would work to be honest, i mean.. a lot of members tend to 'skim' through posts and don't really read them properly, they tend to look at what they will be receiving/and or the credits that they will be rewarded with, that is the only thing that most members look for. I have had reputation removed from me even when they had reasons for doing so but again sometimes these reputations came from a different topic to the one where i was giving something away etc so this i can understand but they should look a little more into the reputation of a member before just deciding to delete them you know?

I understand, it's not your fault, but if people really cared and wanted to rep you, they would care enough to put a sensible reason on it so it doesn't get deleted.

lol maybe he has a problem with women? who knows but that is the reason he gave to me for coming back to staff, one of his main reasons anyway.. That was said in IRC.

Well now that I've been silenced from saying anything about Andrew I'll just stfu shall I? I'll give my opinions on being restricted later on in this post.

I agree that some people do abuse the credits on this forum and yes i also think that some members use them in the wrong way but why punish other members on the forum because a selected few are credit/$ hungry? Maybe if the rule did change on selling credits for $'s and it was no longer allowed i still don't see people respecting this rule, they will still go ahead and sell them anyway so meh.. i really can't see how this would work to be honest hun.

It's not a selected few anymore, though, it's turned into an epidemic. I've seen 2 sides to this forum, the old side..and the new side. I know which one was better when it came to credits, and many other members do.

Maybe, i suppose the only way we are going to find out is if the admins stop the selling of credits but i really can't see this happening.

Well, that's why I'm writing this post, to voice my opinions and try to persuade.

Before buying all the tutorials to post in my topic i had no clue how to even make a tutorial, lol.. i was never really interested in learning how to do so but i have recently been writing my own tutorials for another site that i am an admin on, myself and gacus made about 50 tutorials between us in less than a week to help a fellow member of this forum out, his site was new and he needed the resources to get his site up and running, therefore me and gacus said we would do this for free. So maybe i could start to write my own tutorials from now on but sometimes i am just too lazy to do so, lol.

What we need on here is people who are willing to help the fellow members out a little more instead of expecting something in return, for example credits. I don't see why people can not just help other members out when they need it without the member needing to pay for the help, which is why a lot of the time i give members credits so that other members will make them a signature or cut an image out for them, i think it is wrong for a member to expect something in return for giving a little help to another member on here. If members were a little more helpful to others i think this forum would go far but as stated in many other posts, people are just credit hungry and will not do anything for free.

Yeah, exactly. Which is why I said 'everything has a price tag on it'. It never used to be like that, but since credits are in such demand in order to sell them, I guess people feel oblighed to do it. Again, it goes back to the problem of selling credits.

Maybe we don't need anymore on here at the moment as there is quite a lot of crews at the moment and yes maybe my crew is one of the more helpful ones on here but i also see some crews trying to get a few things together so i can't really let my crew get credit for helping others out when other crews are trying to do the same also, lol.

Can't wait til I see all these crews contributing and helping. :D

Yeah i was thinking of something like that also, where a admin/mod can press a little button when they have dealt with the problem already and it automatically removes the pm that the other staff members get? Like you though i do not know an awful lot about coding

I'm guessing/hoping it is possible, for the benefit of members trying to help the forum.

I agree but like i have said, all the staff tend to stick together regarding things like this so i don't see anything happening about this, if i personally seen a moderator on the forum i am an admin on falsely ban or suspend someone on it, i would remove their staff status also, i don't think this is right and it should be taken seriously.

Not all staff stick together. When I was on the staff certain people were against the big propaganda of credits.

True but i suppose it depends on the person in question, some people are just too lazy to spell their words out correctly or just tend to find it easier to type the way they do (shorthand) so nothing we can do there, lol.

I'm just saying I think the staff, especially admins, should use grammar, spelling and punctuation because it portrays a more ----- image. I don't talk like this on MSN lol, but when you're in authority, I think it is important.

I have one more suggestion i think needs attention putting towards, the IRC chat room, there are so many things that go on in there that i personally don't really like going into the chat room anymore for my own personal reasons and reasons/problems i have had with certain staff members in there. I don't think it is right to ban someone from the chat room over some so silly like 'voicing your opinions' If you can not voice your opinions or have a little fun in there then why is there a chat room to begin with? There has been so many times i have seen a member banned from here just for having a little fun or for voicing their opinions that it isn't even funny anymore. I also recently seen one staff member (who i will not name) ban a member who had just gone into the chat room and asked for some help.. i mean come on, he asked for help with something regarding something on the forum, what gives the staff member the right to just ban someone for that? It is rediculous and pretty childish in my opinion, people need to keep an eye on things like this a little more closely in the chat room because it does get out of hand which is why once again the IRC chat room is empty.

Can't really reply to this as I accidently deleted mIRC a while back, this sounds corrupt, shame that everyone has been banned away.

I thought other staff may want to hear.

No one said it was Shaggy's idea?...I credit you for the idea, thank you?

Surely some staff are knowledgeable in coding, generally the Admins are, so possibly Shaggy can sort something out.

Glad to hear it. I still think it should be cracked down on (even more) and those who give invalid reps should be punished and warned.

Sure, but as Axiom said, it isn't what GR is about, and no one should care if they are outraged, because this is a graphics community.

You wouldn't give a f*ck if I made comments about a 'normal' member, but because Andrew is of some authority I can no longer voice my opinions on him? Well sorry but it isn't happening. Of course I have a personal problem with him, he has a personal problem with me, and many other members, and probably himself. But everyone is oblivious to this. Because he is staff this somehow doesn't matter. Being an admin I'd hear out my members and all the complaints about him, and stop eluding yourself. It took me hours to compose this list, I didn't post it here to flame Andrew, I put it here because I think you should take some of my ideas on board, because I am trying to improve GameRenders. I find it rather funny that you state you want me to stop making 'snide comments'. That's contradictary, because last time I checked, Andrew was the one making 'snide comments'. Directed at me. And no I won't STFU and stop it, I'm not going to be silenced because I voiced an opinion on your precious staff. And if you think that is out of line, I think you have some more serious problems to be tackling at the moment, and one is hiring rude and obnoxious staff members who put down members, dictate in general and corrupt this forum. Kthxbai.

I'm sure you do mate, but I suggest you tone it up about and start with the serious problems. If a member discovered a glitch and could ban people for no reason, they'd be banned on the spot. Why is it any different with staff members?

You don't want sly remarks and comments? Why do you have someone who gives them out on your team then? I really do not understand.

I like that the staff accosiate with members and sometimes listen to their ideas, that's what makes the current staff good (excluding some). I don't really know who owns GR myself, and I know what you are saying.

Long post. I got angry during this because of particular staff members restricting me and Kirbir from posting our opinions on certain staff, the staff member is the one at fault, falsely banning people, not us. Don't suspend me because I am opinionated.

I was also a staff member before this on the official GameShark boards (when it was active like hell few years back) and dealt with all kinds of people with problems with their products so I get what you mean when we have to react and act properly but this is a graphics forum where all kinds of new people are signing up and we need to make them feel welcomed. We can't just go around and ban someone right away (but we will suspend) for just about anything. We actually did just that a long while ago but we decided to be more calm for the good of the members.

We did take care of that, mostly, and that's why we're not allowing members to use classes or ratings as a selling point for their stuff and even filtered out the ratings before that. I too think that's bad for the new members of the site who just want to learn more about their hobby and get thrown odd words they wouldn't care about.

I'd really like for members to report issues to staff whenever something comes up. Just send a simple PM and we will do our job. The only thing that will stop us from doing this is if you send it to multiple staff or post topics in the forum just because someone is impatient. Just send a PM to one person from staff if you spot something in the forum that isn't right and we will take care of it.

Alright, seriously you're starting to get on my nerves Flamesy. We've asked you numerous times to drop the subject and just forget about it in this thread and yet YOU continue to make small jabs. I know for a fact you meant andrew when you asked if one particular staff member was "dictating" when it came to things not getting done, don't try to play innocent. You opened the can of worms when you made a comment, Andrew wouldn't come in here and just pick the fight unless he felt he was being attacked, whether you want to accept that or not. Don't try to say it's his fault when you started the whole thing right here, even after you said you were done with him here a while ago.

We aren't trying to keep you from voicing your opinion, if we were you'd have been suspended or banned after page 3 of this thread but you weren't. Hell, if we really wanted to keep you from doing so, we would've closed or deleted this thread by now. Did you ever think of that? The problem we have right now is that you're blatantly ignoring what us as staff members are telling you. The comments you are making aren't something we would suspend for on a first time basis no matter who you're talking about, it's the fact that you insist on continuing after being asked to stop. I suggest you get off your high horse and stop the childish behavior. As for whether or not Andrew is wrongfully banning and everything, I think the fact that you're still here is proof enough that he isn't. For the last time, drop the subject and move on.

No, you didn't know for a fact. Yes, I call him a dictator but I wasn't aiming it at him when I said that word. You must know Andrew well, but mark my words, he would come here to pick a fight. I've been dealing with him since 2005, you can't tell me you know more about his nasty habbits than me. I never said it was his fault, so please stop falsely accsuing me. I didn't start the whole thing right here. You think I just decided to hate him one day? You don't know half of it, so don't comment and state deplorable lies. You're more concerned about some laughable comments I made about him rather than my ideas, if the admins can't even look past the arguing, which has been going on for a year+, then there's no point you even posting unless you want to ban me.

I said I was done with him but I was replying to Kirbirs comments, OK? And now you're making me elaborate on this petty situation. Until he changes, nothing is going to stop me disliking him. For one second I actually thought being helpful and compiling a list to help GR was actually contributing. Now I just know I may as well ask for a ban.

You can ban me for continuing after you asked me to stop commenting on your staff, don't give a f*ck. I just think it would be low for an admin to ban someone because they made a comment about someone, but whatever, staff members get more respect that retired ones, why am I even bothering. All of this goes unappreciated.

BFTP knew he couldn't ban me, because I some kind of figure. Take it from Kirbir and other members if you're not willing to take it from me.

It's hard to avoid the subject when you're talking about staff and decisions. Kirbir doesn't have a problem with him and still she commented about his actions. That's got to be saying something? If not you must just be ignorant.

You can lock/delete this thread if you think I'm causing too much trouble, ban me if you wish. Just remember that my only intentions were to contribute and help GameRenders, not to hinder your oh so honourable forum. Sorry.

    Flamesy.

Wow I feel so restricted. Whatevs. I'll abide by your rules.

So now you're telling me, if someone is part of a problem I want to bring up, I can't mention names, or even (metaphorically bla bla :)) paint a picture?

I'll PM you right now about this as I'm tired of cluttering up this thread with useless junk that has nothing to do with the intent of the thread.

Who deleted my post? And why? Ah well, no one warned me so I'll just have to post it again. Strange all those posts going missing eh?

As I was saying, freedom of speech was great while it lasted. And for those who read my humble list of suggestions, I hope you take them into consideration.

Your post was most likely deleted because you chose to open a thread a moderator had already closed and post a remark. I'm really sick of the freedom of speech cries you all give us, when will you learn that freedom of speech is at the discretion of those running the website and when we feel you've gone too far we stop you. Once again, get off your high horse and cease with the childish behavior.

High horse? Look who's talking. I'd like the last word in my thread (which I believe I have the priviledge to) and therefore I posted. And I'm replying to your statement, which is useless except boasting about your superiority. I said I'd stop so PM me if you have any issues.

    Suspended.

Stop opening the thread, I thought that a warning would get that point through your head.
